Sounds kinda like you can resell your digital copy maybe? Not sure why or how they would let you do that, but that's the impression I get from "if super mario user gets tired", like if you get tired of the game.

good, I know Iwata said by the end of the the next Q4 they wanted the 3DS to start making money. portable market is going to be neat to watch in non-Japan markets.

There were rumors a couple months ago about Origin or Steam being the basis for Wii U's online presence, I wonder if that's what this is referring to.

I don't think the rumor really stated either way how it would be. Just that Valve and EA were competing for the Wii U and that EA would most likely be the winner and forming some sort of partnership with nintendo

Well Nintendo's done DLC-like stuff in the past. Anyone remember the e-Reader cards for Super Mario Bros. 3 on GBA? Those things were awesome. If we get DLC like that I'd be happy.

Nintendo has done DLC for a long time. Mew downloads for Pokemon RBY is probably one of the earlier instances of DLC outside of PC games.

Since I am overly negative of Nintendo, here's what I'm reading:


Wii U:

User accounts: Wii U will have individual user accounts, rather than one system-wide account.

While other companies are innovating, Nintendo is once again playing catch up. Needed, but nothing to be happy about.

Online: Miyamoto: "Network has to have a totally new concept to be different."

Means absolutely nothing. You can say whatever you want, show us what it is you're doing. Nintendo can not do online gaming, and until they prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they have a concept that works, I'm not going to believe a word they say.


3DS:

Nintendo first-party DLC: Nintendo considering DLC for their own software, mentions "Super Mario" as an example:

Again playing catch up.

"Infant stage" can be used to describe a lot of things Nintendo. Throwing that term out for their online infrastructure is being very generous.

Hear this every E3, nothing ever changes. Just because they say Square Enix will create games for them doesn't mean you'll get any good games (Mario Basketball, remember that?).

Good news! DD is the way to go for the future, and Nintendo is stepping up to the plate.

As it should be. I'm predicting Nintendo is going to need a few more of these types of years before fixing their problems.

Miyamoto's ideas are so far away from what gamers want that it doesn't even matter what he's trying to do. Miyamoto should be in charge of Wii Sports types games since that is the only type of games he's interested in making, and the rest of Nintendo should focus on real games.

In other news, Valve is a pretty f***ing terrible company, let's be honest.

Pokemon Trading Card Game for Wii U just popped into my mind. That's gonna happen, and it will be awesome.

I actually believe them when they say that they'll have good third party support out of the gate, the question is, will those third parties stay? the U is supposedly easy to develop for and is finally a current gen system, so that removes a lot of the barriers that existed with the wii, but traditionally nintendo's fanbase just buys nintendo games and shuns third parties, so I don't see the relationship lasting.
