I just read about that on MagicBox, and while it does look sexy and I always like SNK doing stuff, oddly enough the game selection isn't interesting for me. Wonder why they only have for example KoF 94 and Fatal Fury special, could've used some of the more recent (by that I mean mid 90s to 2000ish) Neo games on it.

Looks cool. I agree with the article that even if it bombs it could potentially be useful for emulation depending on the specs.

but let's be real, it's probably gonna bomb. the handheld market is hard to compete in, especially if you don't have a huge name like Nintendo or Sony behind the product.

Yeah, the game selection is lame. They've also got that kind of games on PSN... Who the hell would buy those at those prices?

This is incredible! The Neo Geo Pocket Color is my favorite handheld of all time. Vibrant color, over 60 hours of battery life, a great (but small) game library, awesome "click stick" movement that is still my favorite handheld movement control, and built-in software that includes a fun horoscope application.

It had a horoscope? Never knew that! Got one on release, played it a lot, but never heard of such a thing. Too bad I lost mine in a move.

Still mad that console fighting games still haven't caught up to the features from its SNK vs Capcom. Play 1-on-1, with the VS style tag system, or KoF style teams. Choice between Street Fighter or KoF super gauges. Large, varied cast of characters (Random B.B. Hood appearance). Mini-games. Think it even had character specific ending s. You just don't see that much stuff being done on any system.

...Granted that's because games cost so much more money to make and adding all that to a fighting game is a pointless, but I loved that stuff.

Capcom vs SNK 2 had most of these things. At least it had 1-on-1 and KoF style teams, no Vs tag teams. And it had SIX different types of gauges, three Capcom styles and three SNK styles! The cast was large and pretty varied (Eagle from Street Fighter 1? Maki from Final Fight 2??). Didn't have mini-games, but I *THINK* it had character specific endings.

I actually forgot you could choose to only use one character in that. That was also a really great, feature-packed game.

Uh, those games listed are built in with the system, not retail games.

So like, the more I read about this the more it seems like just another emulator handheld. Like those $20 Sega Genesis handhelds you can buy these days. I don't think it's supposed to be a legitimate handheld.

Already planning on buying it! Just don't like the MvC 3 simultaneous characters thing. Too much focus on team dynamics, "if you put that character on point you're doing it wrong" arguments, and 100% damage combos. Worried that the benefits of synergy are going to outweigh the other choices, but I want to support the idea whatever happens.

If the way Mike Z styled on a three-man team with Peacock is any indication, this won't be an issue. Obviously assists are good, but that damage boost is bonkers.

I was talking about the same games and their pricing on PSN.
