Agree, love that place so much. I mean I love the entire game immensely, but Zeal was just something else that first time through... and it was always something I looked forward to on subsequent playthroughs.

The Ocean Palace is what I'd call the most classic part of Chrono Trigger, not Zeal. Zeal itself is no more or less impressive than the rest of the game. Which is a testament to its quality, really.
