#100. "Won The Case! Unending Victory"
Game: Trials and Tribulations

I'm not a huge fan of any of the end of case themes. However T&T's at least offers a few layers of melodies and and effectively captures the happy mood that it should.

#99. Taiho-Kun ~ I Want to Defend! (Blue badger theme)
Game: Phoenix Wright

A very simple melody, but really catchy. The song is not very complex at all, which matches its subject well. The blue badger itself is pretty stiff and basic. So this song naturally is as well. By itself it's not that good, but when considering what the song was made for, it's a good fit.

#98. Investigation ~ Middlegame 2009
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

"Middlegame" is the weakest of a set of great investigation themes in AAI. The song builds nicely as it goes along, however it never gets too intense. Which is good, as the game is never too intense when the song is played. So while it fits well, the song unfortunately isn't that exciting.

Ace Attorney is my favorite franchise. One of the key elements that that makes it so great is the awesome soundtracks. In this thread I'll rank my top 100 songs, providing links so you can listen, and a short write up that'll share my thoughts. These write ups won't be very detailed at first, but they'll get a bit longer as the songs (in my opinion) get better.

I selected these songs by listening through the soundtracks of the first five games, giving each one a simple "yes" or "no." I got this list down to 100, and sorted them into 5 tiers of 20. I then rank each tier.

Each day I'll try to post three or four times, with a few songs in each post. Debate, your opinions, and predictions for the top spot are encouraged! If you appreciate this, go out and buy the games (New copies please), so Capcom decides to localize Gyakuten Kenji 2!

#97. Gyakuten Saiben - End
Game: Phoenix Wright

A couple of funky bass riffs can't save this song from it's repetitive nature. While soothing, nothing really stands out as great. The simple melody and beat don't add much either. Being a credits song, I think the developers would have wanted something not necessarily more exciting to play, but something that holds the attention of the player a bit longer so they stick around to read the credits, rather than shut off their system.

#96. Psyche Lock 2007
Game: Apollo Justice

Pretty similar to JFA's Psyche Lock music with some added effects and instrumentation. Unfortunately, while it does fit the Psyche Lock gameplay segments, it's not as good as the original, as the changes made weren't for the better.

#95. Examination ~ Moderate 2002
Game: Justice For All

JFA's moderate cross examination theme does a great job setting the mysterious tone. However it suffers in the same way as each moderate theme does, it doesn't immediately grab you like their Allegro counterparts. With that said, JFA's moderate does provide a nice constant piano melody, supported by a comparatively boring supporting section.

#94. Drew Studio
Game: Apollo Justice

Drew Studio is nice and jazzy. You can tell that there's some darkness and mystery hidden within though. It's only real issue is that it's dead simple. Such little variation occurs throughout the song. The song shows the theme of Drew Studio very well though. Initially it appears to be a nice relaxing art studio, but you soon realize there's much more to be found within. A bit more flare could make this song rank much better.

93. Taiho-kun March ~ Bando Land Theme
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

A pretty fun song. it seems like something you'd hear at an actual amusement park. It suffers from being pretty generic, but it stands out as unique in the Ace Attorney universe. And really, who wouldn't want to go to the blue badger theme park?

92. Tyrell Badd ~ The Truth isn't Sweet
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

This theme seems like it should be pretty cool. Fairly high energy, with changing instrumentation throughout. However I feel the main melody is lacking and just not very enjoyable to listen to. That, and it doesn't represent Badd very well. I think someone who has gone through as much as he has would have a darker, less energetic theme.

#91. *Spoilers* - The Enemy Who Surpasses The Law
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Yeah, spoilers in this one. Alba's theme song suits him very well. The low pitched instruments used match his equally deep Objection. This song is actually pieced together quite nicely, however it is composed primarily of string instruments. I only enjoy string instruments when they're fast moving melodies, which Alba's theme unfortunately does not have. Still though, we're moving into the area of music I consider good!

#90. Reminiscence ~ The Bitter Taste of Truth
Game: Trials and Tribulations

The Bitter Taste of Truth is one of many "Reminiscence" songs found int he Ace Attorney Franchise. I find that it's one of the better ones. From the beginning of the track, the mood is set, sadness. It even starts with descending notes. As the song progresses, the complexity increases, resulting in a very nice listening experience.

#89. Won The Lawsuit! ~ Our Victory
Game: Apollo Justice

AJ's Won The Lawsuit is cheery while keeping a pretty standard tempo. The result is some simply happy music. A catchy melody and a simple but entertaining bassline add to this song. Not much to say really, it's just happy! What's there not to like?

#88. Recollection ~ SL9 Incident
Game: Phoenix Wright

Recollection captures the sadness of Rise From the Ashes very well. There are so many sad memories from the case, so it was important for the audio team to get this one right. Fortunately, they succeed in providing a suiting song that allows us to connect with the feelings the characters are having.

#87. Reminiscence ~ Steel Samurai's Ballad
Game: Justice For All

The Reminiscence version of the Steel Samurai theme manages to take a very bright and upbeat song, and turn it into a slow, emotion filled ballad. Unfortunately nothing is added, and we just hear the simple loop over and over.

#86. Ema Skye's Theme - Turnabout Sisters 2005
Game: Phoenix Wright

Ema's theme really fits her bright mood. Like a few other songs mentioned, it is not much more than a pretty simple loop. However it is surprisingly nice to listen to, as it is quite catchy.

#85. Search ~ Opening 2002
Game: Justice For All

I really Opening 2002. The main melody is a bit of a weird rhythm, however it goes nicely with the straight forward drum beat. Another rhythm is added in the second half of the loop. All of these piece together to create a good song with some cool articulation in the catchy main melody.

#84. Trés Bien
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Trés Bien is probably the most downright happy and cheerful song on this list. It's really just an overload of cuteness, something you'd hear on some childrens show or an anime that's totally aware of how cheerful it is. Even if I was cold and emotionless and didn't care for happiness, the song would still be good! It has a cool intro that layers in sounds before the main melody kicks in. The song also features an ending that's much deeper than the rest of the song, that provides a cool transition when it loops back to the beginning.

#83. Shi-Long Lang ~ Speak Up, Pup!
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

I guess I'm just not a big fan of character specific themes in AAI, for the most part at least. Now don't get me wrong, the song is good. The saxophone solo throughout is actually really nice, particularly when it gets high up. However while uniqueness is good, I don't think this style of music is right for the Ace Attorney Franchise. If I was looking for a jazz rock song, I'd listen to an actual jazz rock recording, not something supposed to be like one, hampered by the DS hardware. Ace Attorney songs have a certain quality that makes them recognizable in the franchise, Lang's theme lacks it.

#82. Trucy's Theme ~ Child of Magic
Game: Apollo Justice

Bonus: Awesome Jazz Version:

The first thing I notice when I listen to Trucy's Theme is the funky bass line playing throughout. Trucy's them has really good instrumentation. All the sounds you hear are pleasant, and while it's not on the same level as Trés Bien, everything you hear is so bright and cheerful. I find Trucy's Theme hard to describe, since when you listen to it, it's highlights are all evident.

#81. Trance Logic
Game: Apollo Justice

For me, what makes Trance Logic cool is how it sounds full and complete despite there only being 3 instruments, two of them playing very simple parts. The blend of these three instruments works very well though, as highs, lows, and mids are represented. The music is also very fitting, it's calm like Apollo must be when he needs to think things through in cases.

#80. Miles Edgeworth ~ Objection! 2009
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Bonus: Gyakuten Kenji 2 Objection:

Coming in at #80, AAI's Objection theme is the lowest on the list. It's good, but it has nothing that truly stands out to make it great. It does however over a variety of instruments, which make, as I said, good but not great music. At least the loop itself is pretty long, having four distinct sections.

#79. With Pearly
Game: Justice For All

Pearl's Theme is a perfect match for her character. The character is so sweet and innocent, as is this song. A light and cheery melody, which is accompanied by a deeper but an also cheerful counter melody.

While it is low on this list, I have another 80 songs (Not including bonus or orchestrated CDs which don't count) that didn't even make the top 100. So if you look at it that way it's around the middle of the road.

Thanks for the tag though!

#78. Solution! ~ Splendid Deduction
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Splendid Deduction has a majestic and triumphant feel to it. Which I find suits Edgeworth very well. The song itself is nice to listen to, it's consistent and stays in character without getting too cheerful. While I do like some cheerful stuff, it wouldn't fit Edgeworth. Splendid Deduction is in my opinion the best case victory theme.

#77. Phoenix Wright ~ Objection 2004
Game: Trials and Tribulations

T&T has some excellent court room music. However compared to the cross-examination, cornered, and beginning of trial themes, Objection 2004 sadly fades into the background. Perhaps its biggest issue, is the lack of satisfaction you get from it. Generally, when an Objection themes plays, you should feel accomplished and in control. However, Objection 2004 is just a good song, and doesn't give me that feeling.

#76. Examination ~ Allegro 2002
Game: Justice For All

Allegro 2002 is the weakest of the 5 Allegro themes. With that said, it's still quite good. The constant playing of the piano is accented well by some quick bass riffs and well timed articulated drum beats. However, it's the lack of the constant drum beat and steady bass (Though the bass isn't missing as much) to drive it along is what prevents it from being higher up.

Anyone have predictions for the top few spots? I'd find your comments interesting.

#75. Thrill Theme ~ Suspence
Game: Apollo Justice

While I know I've commented on how songs aren't as good due to their simplicity and repetitiveness, AJ's Suspense excels for these reasons. A song like this should not let up, at all. Suspense does not, it creates a feeling of suspense and keeps it applied for the duration of the entire scene which it is played in. It does its job well.

#74. Investigation ~ Opening 2009
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

I love the bass in this song. Not really sure why, I just find it so much fun to listen to and sing a long to. Opening 2009 has a pretty simple melody, however it adds in lots of different instruments playing different things at different times. It takes a bare bones structure and really adds to it.

#73. Troupe Gramarye
Game: Apollo Justice

Troupe Gramarye is exciting to listen to, which is important since the characters which it plays for are meant to be exciting exciting. The song is high energy throughout with some nice touches, particularly the drumline at the end of the loop. While not as catchy as other songs, Troupe Gramarye earns points for having lots of unique touches (Such as the chime tree) which you don't hear in any other song.

#72. Cross Examination ~ Moderate 2004
Game: Trials and Tribulations

One thing that Moderate 2004 really gets right is that it sets a mysterious tone. It also has lots of instruments with different tempos and rhythms being progressively added in. The song gets progressively more epic in the second half with the sustained notes, and higher pitches, which keep on building until the very end. The effect is done very well.

#71. Investigation ~ Opening 2007
Game: Apollo Justice

Opening 2007 is similar to it's 2002 counterpart. However, the beats in 2007 are more accented, and have more of a punching feel. This is supported by a simple yet funky drumbeat, and some nice flourishes and articulation by other instruments. Like we've seen before, we have a pretty bare bones structure, however it's everything that has been added to the structure that makes this song great.

#70. Cross Examination ~ Moderate 2007
Game: Apollo Justice

Apollo Justice features fantastic court room music. The first to appear on this list is the Moderate cross examination theme. Like JFA's, this theme is a lot of constant piano. What makes this better though, is the way the other instruments support it. While the piano is always the center of the attention, the bass, strings, and other less noticeable parts compliment the main melody while adding their own nice touches.

#69. Reproducing the Scene ~ The Gentleman Thief's Secret Weapon
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Reproducing the Scene is both catchy and unique. The instrument (synthesizer?) in the beginning, and played throughout the piece is unlike anything else in the series. While not the center of attention, it manages to stick out without taking away from the melody. These two contrasting elements sticking out are accompanied well by the bass and drums.

#68. Klavier Gavin ~ Guilty Love
Game: Apollo Justice

If I were at a rock concert, I would enjoy hearing Guilty Love. The song is very high energy, and each instrument features a cool part. Particularly the guitar solo that plays throughout and the galloping bass line, with all of the instruments going into sync to end the loop. There are only two distinct sections of the song though, which is unfortunate.

#67. Maya Fey ~ Turnabout Sisters
Game: Ace Attorney

Maya's theme suits her personality very well, as do most of the female companion themes. Hers is cheery and bright, like the character. Something that I really like about this song is that the last third is pretty different than the main section, and features bass and sustained notes which are nice to listen to. If that section had been drawn out more, this song would've ranked higher. However as it stands, Maya's theme is still very well done.

#66. Kurain Village
Game: Justice For All

Bonus: Kurain Genealogy

Right away, the Kurain Village theme captures the mystic vibe of Fey clan's home. It is very oriental sounding, matching the Fey's appearance, while also having a bit of a mysterious vibe to it, which is also fitting as there are mysterious surrounding the members of the clan. Cool instrumentation and rhythms make this a great piece.

#65. Kay Farady ~ The Great Truth Burglar
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Right away Kay's theme kicks in with excitement. Kay is a high energy character, and her theme carries it's high energy throughout. A high tempo, with many fast moving parts. Overall the song is fun to listen to, and is a great match for Kay.

#64. Phoenix Wright ~ Objection! 2001
Game: Phoenix Wright

Objection matches the style of PW's cross examination themes very well. The song itself is pretty catchy, and is really quite the classic. It rewards you with the satisfaction that T&T lacked. The song can loop on for a while without you ever getting tired of the pretty simple melody and supporting elements.

#63. Furio Tigre ~ Swinging The Tiger
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Bonus: Turnabout Jazz Soul version:

Now here's some Jazz music I can get behind. As a Jazz musician myself, Furio Tigre has plenty of elements that create that big band feel. With plenty of melodies playing against each other, with a standard jazz supporting section, and cool riffs and solos. Tigre's theme is both exciting and simply well put together.

#62. Reminiscence ~ The True Evening of Grief
Game: Phoenix Wright

Ace Attorney has plenty of reminiscence themes, however True Evening of Grief really stands out above most of them. It sounds legitimately sad, and remorseful. On top of this, it has some really cool sections of having two alternating notes crescendo and decrescendo, while having a cool melody and nice instrumentation through out.

Whooo, my favorite topic on Board 8 right now! Don't mind the fact that I'm mentioning mainly what I disagree on....

Hmmm....

1)I think Investigation ~ Middlegame 2009 is excellent and very suspenseful, better than the Investigation ~ Opening.

2)Kudos for ranking AAI the higehst with its victory theme.

3)Kudos for ranking PW2's objection theme over that of PW3 or AAI.

4)I hate seeing Examination ~ Allegro 2002 ranked so low, but there are many good pieces, true.... plus, I can't blame anyone for ranking it last among the Allegros.

5)Cross Examination ~ Moderate 2004 - should be a bit higher, methinks. There's just something special about the atmosphere in this one. I think this and Apollo Justice's are the two best Exam ~ Moderates.

#61. Search ~ Opening 2001
Game: Phoenix Wright

Opening 2001 is similar to other opening themes, where the song is filled with lots of articulated sounds and different rhythms. What puts 2001 ahead of the other opening themes listed so far is it's cool and catchy rhythms. I also particularly enjoy how there's a high sound, and a low sound playing very similar yet still different parts together for the majority of the theme.

#60. Reminiscence ~ Light and Shadow at the Film Studio
Game: Ace Attorney

The unfortunate thing about Light and Shadow, is that the loop is realllly short. The main melody is really cool but sadly nothing is added to it besides a little drumming break before the song starts again. With that said though, the theme captures the remorse and tragedy of 1-3. It makes you feel for the murderer, which is a rare occasion.

#59. Psyche Lock
Game: Justice For All

Like the Kurain village theme, Psyche Lock fits the Fey clan. It's filled with mystery, and has a sort of otherworld theme thanks to the unique instrumentation that the song has compared to other songs in the series. Which works, since when doing Psyche Lock segments, Phoenix is sort of taken out reality, I mean locks don't just appear around people.

#58. Tell The Truth 2007
Game: Apollo Justice

I love the Tell the Truth themes of the Ace Attorey series. However Apollo Justice's unfortunately lacks the epicness and intensity of the other games. The theme is played when you discover the truth and the witness is breaking down, however AJ's is just too calm for that. Still a good song though!

#57. Prosecutor's Murmer ~ Promise to Meet Again
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Prosecutor's Murmer is a nice ending theme. It's bittersweet, featuring both some bright and sad moments. This works really nicely, since the ending of AAI is also bittersweet. This song features some nice counter melodies playing against each other and a pretty complete piano track that can be played by itself (with a few additions) and still sound pretty nice.

#56. Turnabout Up In Flames
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

I originally wanted to place this song higher, but unfortunately it is barely over a minute long and does not loop. If the last 35 seconds or so were stretched out into a whole song this would definitely been top 10. That part is so epic. The rest of the song is really cool too, it constantly builds up. However the problem still stands is that this song does not loop. Most if not all other songs on this list go on for minutes at a time, multiple times a case. However as much as it hurts, Turnabout Up In Flames has it's 35 seconds of glory once, then it's over. And if it did loop, it would've been weird.

Bonus: Gorgeous!
Game: Justice For All

Gorgeous suffers an even worse fate than Turnabout Up In Flames. 15 seconds of pure amazement, only featured once.

# 55. Courtroom Lounge ~ Another Overture
Game: Justice For All

The first time I listened through Another Overture I wasn't sure if it would make the top 100. Compared to the other overtures, it is a bit boring. But after that I realized that JFA's overture sets the mood for the trial ahead. The song itself is very tense and serious, and in ways it gets you into character for what's coming up, this is especially true in the more serious trials in the game.

#54. Turnabout Revival ~ End
Game: Phoenix Wright

Turnabout Revival is a nice chill ending theme. Playing through the entire time is a funky yet relaxed bass line, which is soon joined by some nice sustained notes and a cool melody. It's not the best ending theme, but it does offer a nice cool down song as the player enjoys the music. It's purpose is to be background music to make sure the player focuses on the credits, and while it does that well, it stays interesting enough that the player will want to keep listening / reading.

#53. Logic and Trick
Game: Phoenix Wright

Logic and Trick is similar to AJ's Trance Logic. What makes Logic and Trick much better though is the added complexity. Both songs feature only a few instruments, but Logic and Trick grows as it goes. The last third of the loop in particular has two fast moving and unique counter-melodies playing against each other, supported by soothing sustained notes and a cool drum beat.

#52. Tell the Truth 2004
Game: Trials and Tribulations

While T&T's TTT (lol) is much closer to how I think a Tell The Truth should sound like, it's still not on the level of the other 3. However, Tell the Truth 2004 is still pretty cool in parts. It does approach the intensity required at the beginning, and has some cool bass riffs and different rhythms used throughout.

#51. Ace Attorney 4 ~ End
Game: Apollo Justice

Apollo Justice does have a pretty cool ending theme. It switches around in style a lot and features some nice mixes of songs used within the game. None of it is overly exciting though or that much fun to listen to, which keeps it out of the top 50. It's hard to dislike a song though that mixes together so many elements and sounds from its game.

#50. Crisis of Fate
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Here we are, half way through, our top 50! I was originally only going to do the top 50 songs, which is about the top 30% of the music in my opinion. To kick things off is the super exciting Crisis of Fate. This song only goes at one speed, and that's the fastest speed it can go. For the entire loop (which is surprisingly a bit long), there's fast moving instruments everywhere. The intensity never lets up, and it makes for very exciting scenes when this song is played. No melody really stands out, perhaps because it moves by too fast for your brain to process it.

Well I find that 1, 2, 3, and 5 are pretty similar, and I really do like them all. I just prefer the other 3 over T&T. I always appreciate feed back though, and in fact I'd say the more people reply to this, the more songs I'll get posted in a day.

With that said, starting another set once I post this. Perhaps one more tonight after that.

#49. Keisuke Itonoko ~ Detective Gumshoe
Game: Phoenix Wright

Gumshoe's theme has some really cool parts in it. The bass line is fun to play and really nice to listen to in terms of the way it sounds. Over the main melody, we also have cool piano work, that almost sounds like improvised additions in the second section of the song. Each instrument adds to this song in it's own important way, and no part overpowers the others.

#48. Dick Gumshoe ~ I can do it when it counts, pal!
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

What a twist! The more modern spin on Gumshoe's already great theme manages to top the original. While both are the same in terms of progression in melodies, the AAI rendition offers an extra layer of excitement, with some flare added to each instrument. This added complexity manages to add to the original, while keeping its charm. Gumshoe is awesome by the way, and totally deserving of too great themes to match.

#47. Investigation ~ Opening 2004
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Opening 2004 has all the key parts of a good opening theme. Nice articulation, staccato notes, and cool rhythms being played over a relatively simple drum beat. What makes T&T rank as the highest opening though is added complexity. None of the other themes have the instruments seemingly playing their own thing, different melodies and rhythms, only to come back together into sync at crucial points as well as T&T. Even when they're not in sync, the results are great. Congrats to T&T and to Openings in general for going 5/5 getting into the top 100!

#46. Shelly de Keller ~ The Whim of a Murderous Gentleman
Game: Justice For All

Shelly's theme is so groovy. It's jazzy, and mysterious. Intriguing, yet a bit alarming. This is perfect for Shelly. His character is such a cool customer, something so chilled out is perfect for him. The song has dark vibes to it, not once does it get bright. However it is not blatantly evil either, which again suits Shelly. A very chill jazzy tune, something you can picture yourself hearing at a quiet bar almost.

#45. Gyakuten Sisters Ballad
Game: Phoenix Wright

The Fey sisters ballad is very soothing. It's bright, without getting too happy which is appropriate given the situation the Fey sisters are in. It shares many elements with Maya's theme, however I find this one to be much nicer to listen to. The melody is catchy, and despite it being pretty simple, the way the music is layered makes it sound much more whole. Also, the bass line is very chilled and relaxing.

#44. Investigation ~ Middle 2004
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Middle 2004 starts off as nothing special, however with each passing bar the song builds until it's super awesome transition into the second section of the song. After this transition we're treated to some nice sustained notes over the drum beat before the final section of the loop descends, before the loop starts over and the pitch and intensity begins to rise again.

#43. Examination ~ Moderate 2001
Game: Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright takes the top spot for Moderate themes. The beauty of this song is in it's simplicity. The main melody is simple, and it plays over a simple bass line, which is later joined by some relatively simple-ish sustained notes. The thing is though, that all three parts are so catchy, and they fit together so fantastically well. The song even has mysterious vibes coming from the sustained notes, an excellent fit for a moderate theme.

#42. Gyakuten Saiban ~ Trial
Game: Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright's trial theme starts off like many of the songs on this list do, pretty basic. However additional instruments are quickly woven into the mix. The highlight of the song for me has always been the bass, which does funky riffs throughout, and occasionally plays some counter melodies against the higher instruments. The trial theme is very catchy and features a cool second section too.

#41. Courtroom Lobby ~ New Prelude
Game: Apollo Justice

New Prelude is a really chill theme, in ways it serves to allow you calm down and gather your thoughts before the trial. The song itself isn't very difficult, the simple melody is pleasing though. Along with that, faster moving parts join in and play against each other creating cool results.

#40. Hazakura Temple
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Here we are, the top 40! The best of the best. Hazakura Temple shares a similar aspect with the other themes revolving around the spirit mediums in the series. They feature a very unique oriental vibe that is not found in any of the other songs in the game. Hazakura Temple starts off with sustained notes that sets the mood right away, and features great instrumentation throughout. All of the instruments play different parts, yet they blend together so well.

Why are you using the GBA tunes for PW:T&T?

I love AAI's rendition of Gumshoe's theme. It reminds me of the Lunar games. It's easily in my top 20. Yeah, the way Gyakuten Sisters Ballad uses all its little instrument voices is just....flawless. And, it's the fact that the bass fills in wherever the melody takes a break that makes Examination ~ Moderate 2001 so dang awesome.

Oops, didn't notice that. I don't really check the links before I add them, I just make sure they're the right songs. All judgments are based on the DS versions though.

No more rankings tonight, busy day. Should finish this up by Monday if not Sunday!

#39. Solitary Confinement ~ Darkness Theme
Game: Apollo Justice

Spoilers in this one! Solitary Confinement is a very good theme. It is very calm and collected, much like Kristoph is. However it's easy to sense the mystery and darkness hidden within. The song itself sounds very cool, the piano and bass offer a nice foundation, along with some subtle percussion. The featured instrument (Clarinet?) is very jazzy and pleasing to listen to.

#38. Oo-Edo Soldier Tonosaman ~ Steel Samurai Theme
Game: Phoenix Wright

The Steel Samurai theme is an upbeat song that combines rock elements and sounds that you would associate with a samurai. The song gets a lot of things right. From the exciting intro, to high energy guitar, to super fast moving riffs when the rest of the song is relatively calm in comparison. All of this is supported by cool drum beats and a solid bass line the entire time.

#37. Great Revival
Game: Justice For All

Great Revival is majestic and triumphant, perfect for a character like Miles Edgeworth. The song never gets over the top, yet it still manages to maintain it's dominance for the entire time. A particularly catchy bass line and simple drum beat supports a march like main melody. Great Revival is a perfect representation of Edgeworth in the form of music.

Come on guys make some predictions haha. Or post your top picks at least!

#36. Apollo Justice ~ A New Trial is in Session (aka Objection 2007)
Game: Apollo Justice

It's too bad that Objection 2007 didn't feature some parts of the version used in trailer (ie: 1:39 in since if it did it would've been an easy top 20. However as it stands, Apollo Justice's Objection is still quite good. It's more epic and exciting than most of the Objection themes, and it has a really cool melody over a strong drum beat and sustained notes throughout the entire song.

#35. Courtroom Lounge ~ Beginning Prelude
Game: Phoenix Wright

Beginning Prelude has an awesome melody, which goes back and forth between the synthesizer and the bass. Sometimes they play the same thing, and a lot of the time when one instrument sustains, the other instrument has a nice little mini solo. The effect is really cool, since it's basically two instruments playing off of eachother over a simple drum beat.

#34. Investigation ~ Contradiction at the Crime Scene
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

As the latest game on this list, AAI seems to really excel in the quality of the music that Capcom is able to create after having used the DS hardware for 5 or so years. While this list isn't based on bit rate or anything, it seems like Capcom was able to put more instruments in at one time, and each instrument plays well. This is especially true for Contradiction at the Crime Scene. Like a lot of other songs, the main melody seems to be rather simple, however it's supported by lots of other instruments which play their own thing before syncing together again, when the melody becomes a bit more complex. The sustained notes in CATCS are really nice in particular.

#33. Dahlia Hawthorne ~ Distance Traces of Beauty
Game: Trials and Tribulations

Dahlia's theme is beautiful and serene, matching her appearance in case one brilliantly. The melodies blend together so nicely creating a song filled with pure innocence. Unfortunately it doesn't last long enough, if more was added to this song it would have ranked even higher on the list. The minute or so of music we do get though is great.

#31. Investigation ~ Core 2009
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

Core 2009 really builds up as it goes. The notes progressively higher, and the melodies get more and more intense as it goes. Something that Core 2009 really excels at is its drum beats. The small one between the two sections of the song serves it's purpose well. However it's the one at the end of the song that of the loop that provides a flawless restart of the song as the loop begins again.

#31. Yatagarasu ~ The Gentleman Thief
Game: Ace Attorney Investigations

The Yatagarasu has an epic, intense theme. The strings progressively get stronger and faster moving as the song goes. The whole time we have a pretty simple bass line and drum beat being played along with the strings and the melody. Some nice percussion kicks us into high gear for the second section as everything ramps up, creating an exciting theme for an exciting character.

#30. Ace Attorney 2 ~ End
Game: Justice For All

I really love the End theme for Ace Attorney 2. It's so relaxing, and it really feels like an ending song should feel like. The song starts off failry simple, with some piano chords and simple bass progressions over sustained notes and a drum beat. They're so pleasing to listen to though. The second section of the song is just as good. A pretty simple piano progression with the aforementioned instruments and some additional percussion. This song really does provide great closure.

Sorry Haste. Thank you for sticking with this though! I'm saving all of the results and I promise I'll do this again when GK2 comes out in North America. Which I believe may be sooner than we think, as for the 10th anniversary of Ace Attorney, Capcom is holding an event at the end of the month, which will include an announcement that will apparently make fans very happy. That way I can re-evalutate the current rankings, add new songs, and hopefully where Ace Attorney is more relevant I'll have more followers to motivate me to work on this haha. Also for the record, this ended up being a bit over 6000 words, and about 16 pages in a Pages document!
