And of course, if you've got the time and HD space to wander far enough to force it to generate it all, a Minecraft map can potentially be many times larger than the surface of the Earth.

That's not the same, man...

That picture isn't good because it doesn't really normalize the sizes to make them comparable. JC is many miles big, but you can run across 1 mile much faster than you can run across 1 mile in WoW or GTA, so it's not as simple as comparing mileage of the area.
