Phage
Warden Mail/G. Shroud/Negatron (Whichever of these options you'll need most early

This is your core. You can add Heart of Gold or Philostone (Maybe even both)

You'll want to go tanky after that. You can build the Phage into either TF or FM your call depending on the game. FM will give you more tankiness+Better slow and cost less, TF will give you more movement, more damage via Sheen proc (which you'll be hitting all the time thanks to your Q), Crits, more mana (Not really too important but can't hurt), while still getting a slow and some tankiness but will cost you like 1300 more.

Atmogs/AtMallet is pretty common on him too. Wit's End is popular on Tanky DPS right now, Force of Nature is always pretty strong, Frozen Heart is pretty awesome, Randuins is always good, anything that allows you to be a frontline damage soak while still being super disruptive is what you want.

Man, I've got to get it through my head that each champions combos are different. I'm playing Alistar today and I've begun every damn fight by healing, since I played Taric last night.

You referred to Dante as lower level for no real reason (seriously, you think someone is going to do a headbutt/pulverize combo when they're leading off by heal with mistake?), so I did the same to you. I thought it was funny.

In any case I'm half being serious even outside the jab. You can play a good Alistar without mastering that combo at most ELOs, yours and mine included. It's good to learn but yeah your level definitely isn't high enough that it's "necessary" either.

Well the timing is kinda tough.

Or at least I'd assume. I've practically never screwed it up but I also almost never use it because if you're well positioned to start a fight it's more effective to use the abilities separately. A lot of people screw it up, though.

It's easier if you headbutt while you're actually in range for the ability. Then when you cast it start mashing Q. I don't know how you do it, though.

- It was a 5v4 with one fo our guys doing great. I pretty much fed my lane with bad buys and bad reads.

- I'm still terrible at last hits, which he needs. Didn't help that I was refused midlane and my partner kept (a Shyvana) kept killing everything. Ended with around 300 AP total =(. I will say he was a lot of fun to play and I'll probably use him a lot this week.

- Fed a bit early, but once I got into the groove of his moves, I was doing well. We had a great team to boot.

- Don't think I did too poorly considering I had the most kills on the team and third worst deaths. And I had no idea how to build him. He was rather fun. Too bad my partner had no Mana for my Clarity and there were no mages opposing, lol.

- Did their team suck? Maybe, maybe. But I thought I did quite well. I also should really have 4 deaths, but got away with less than 50 HP at least three times. Fun! High rating for successful retreating! It rarely happens!

- A lot of my early struggles were from my first Blitzcrank. **** those arms. I could not get a handle on my lane at all, but top and mid held their own.

- I honestly have no idea why they surrendered. They had more tower kills, better position, better fed. They just insta-surrendered when they had someone leave at 21:00. God I fed so hard this game.

Game #10: Shyvana

- Holy crap this game was fun. We had a Ryze disconnect from the very beginning so it was 4v5 the entire game. They had positioning in the midgame and were in our base around 25:00. Our Malphite went 6/13 because he ALWAYS chased down. Once he went all the way from our base to the enemy base with three guys behind him and still didn't make the kill. Yet, we had an expert communicative Ashe and oh my god I'm in love with our Veigar. 26 kills, over 900 AP by 45 minutes. I almost splooged when I saw that AP. I may not be able to play him, but by god I will worship him. I give myself an A- for the three or four times I ganked and saved a teammate's ass. Plus, most of my deaths were completely sudden stun-flip-slow-massacres. But man, insane game. I still can't believe we won.

I just read the Wiki and noticed I'm the only Talon player of B8.

Now to say, Talon isn't a bad champ, but he's mainly a mid-game champ. He's quite squishy, but not someone you buy armor stuff for. The Frozen Mallet is a must-buy sort of item for him with the slow value from it.

As of other hints, max Rake (the W) first, being the only CC of yours that activates the passive. Also, don't overuse your ult, it's your only move for a quick get-a-way.
