Fun stuff, a 3-way tie for 25th to end the season! As expected after a crazy Week 30, there's lots of shifting around in the Top 25, but Chrono Trigger remains #1 in spite of its upset loss to its fierce rival, Chrono Cross. Note: Final Fantasy IX would have been an easy 4th if not for one person ranking it 13th. It still almost got 4th anyway. Go figure.

Donkey Kong Country/Persona 3 is going to be a play-in game, so that's why they're both listed in the 16 slot there under RE4.

7-10 was all pretty interchangeable. We tried to set up what we thought were good 7/10 and 8/9 matches.

Most of us didn't really think Path of Radiance was nearly as good as its record showed anyway. No really good wins on it, so it suffered a bit for that.

Its best wins relied on low votals too IIRC. Looking at the other 7-10 seeds, PW3 really is one of its best shots at winning. Feeding it to Mario, Zelda or Metroid would be much worse.

Out of curiosity, what was the second worst and at what position in the SoS ranking?

MGS3 was 150th and Prime was right behind it at 148th.

Of course, having to play in perhaps the worst conference in the contest divebombed that SoS a bit. Batman is the next lowest at 138th.

PoR was in like three different match-ups at different times. I would have rather it end up against Brawl but T&T is a good match-up for it.

Looking at it now with an eye on predictions I really do like the bracket (I liked it last night, but I like it more now). A ton of great matches with real upset potential and some serious dark horse possibilities.

Still really looking forward to what the hell happens in Persona 4 vs Wind Waker.

Going through and predicting it, most round 2 matches felt fairly obvious.

...Which just leaves me wondering what huge upsets actually happen. Persona 4 > SM64 let's go

The NCAA Characters II bracket felt kinda obvious, too, at least to me.

But then we ended up with a 14 seed in the final match!

--38 of the 65 games in the tournament field were in the original NCAA Games tournament.

--Highest seeded game from the first tournament not to make this tournament: 3-seeded Super Mario Bros. (which obviously did not make it because it was not in this contest. For the highest seeded game that missed that was in this contest, that would be 6-seeded Mega Man 3).

--Game that made the biggest fall in its seeding from one tournament to the next: Super Smash Bros., which dropped from a 5 seed to a 15 seed.

--Game that made the biggest jump in its seeding from one tournament to the next: Final Fantasy IX, which jumped from a 14 seed to a 1 seed.

--Games that are the same seed this time that they were last time: Majora's Mask (9 seed), Donkey Kong Country 2 (6 seed), Tales of Symphonia (5 seed), Final Fantasy VII (2 seed), Fire Emblem 7 (15 seed),
