fruit meter? that's what it's called? Huh...I guess that makes sense since eating green fruit revives it instantly. I thought this was like a minigame where you had to roll and stuff. Yea, rolling in SS is a tad bit annoying but it's not needed as much as it was in other Zelda's, you'll get over it.

The 1:1 sword controls, when not needing a recalibration, are amazing.

I disagree

But mostly because I'm so used to Twilight Princess where I can flick my wrist while I run.

Or the other games where I can do easily vertical slashes without being a bit off

I was angry I couldn't slash/run, but it's a minor quirk. Accuracy of Wii Motion plus being off a bit is a tiny prob too, but the game has so many perks. From puzzle difficulty, to enemies doing good damage and actually punishing you for combat mistakes, to perfectly orchestrated music for every area... I can't get enough of the game, whereas Twilight Princess felt rushed from story, to design, to puzzles.

SS is probably my least favorite console Zelda, and it all has to do with flying and hub areas.

I like the controls, puzzles and combat.

yea rolling is pointless

and i enjoyed a hub area oriented zelda

the areas all had vibrant, amazing depiction. beautiful music, tons to explore once u came back with new weapons, etc

Another thing... shortly after rolling, you end up fighting some bats in a cave. You dispatch of them and the time it takes to kill them, the ruby that the first one drops vanishes. I don't get why they can't go the extra mile with these games. Hoping we get a legit controller out of Nintendo's Wii U so I don't have to Z target/C-look anymore.

The sword stuff is neat enough

I've never seen it brought up before, but yes, drops seem to disappear quickly in this game. It's usually not a big deal, but sometimes you have to prioritize finishing the fight or lowering your guard to get a drop. Maybe they designed it that way intentionally?

Rolling was still really easy for me, but it doesn't matter since normal sprinting is a better use for your stamina unless you're going to enter a new area or stop before it runs out.

I strongly disagree with the statement that the combat is improved; instead, I feel like they've removed all options except your sword from combat, which is not improved in any significant way. All they added was that you have to slice in a certain direction; the AI is still ridiculously passive and attacks once every ten seconds or so with a simple attack while making no effort to coordinate as a group, and it's rare that enemies actually counterattack unless you flail wildly for several seconds. Most of your combat damage will come from hitting electrified enemies in the wrong way.
