SMW has an awesome world map and its secrets are on a completely different level, though. Plus, there's more variety in who you play as: Mario or Luigi, and you can be with or without Yoshi. The level design is solid, I guess, but for whatever reason, my biggest problem with SMW is that I just don't think its world is very interesting, it has sort of a bland visual style and it lacks the bizarre surrealism that almost all the other Mario games of the time have. There's nothing very memorable about SMW to me, it's just a solid 2D platformer and that's it.
