MvC2 has tons of nostalgia, but the community has moved on. In ten years, assuming no new MvC3 releases come out, UMvC3 will be jsut as fondly regarded as MvC2 is now.

MvC2 was an amazing fighting game, but it kinda had horrible balance issues that were apparent even when I was young and always played by myself >_>

KrahenProphet and Kana are on opposite ends of the Awesome Spectrum.

More people play Mahvel 3 then Mahvel 2. That's pretty much where all the dedicated time goes into. The people who don't like it(Sanford Kelly, one of the best MvC2 players) just don't play it. But by and large, the community has moved on.

I think most of the complaining you hear about Marvel 3 is about the economics of the game ($40 second version released 9 months after the $60 original and within the same calendar year, $10 of on-disc DLC characters, $40 of on-disc DLC costumes that are being held back for up to 5 months). You didn't see that with MvC2 since it was just one game with one price tag because that's how games were 11 years ago, whereas now you see complaints like that with just about EVERY Capcom game.

Also there's complaining about requested balance adjustments, which again you didn't see with MvC2 because that kind of thing wasn't possible. There may be a few lingering complaints about the roster, but I don't think those are coming from the serious FG community anymore, if they ever were.
