It looked like Mienshao had the upper hand initially, but Infernape pulled another turnaround to emerge victorious at 27-23!
That makes three consecutive starter victories, from three different Gens, too. Gen II and most of Gen III starters have had their chance at winning a contest, so we'll see how Swampert does in the Ground contest.
I tried GaryOak's tactic of avoiding updates to see if that would deter Infernape haters from voting, and it looks like that might have contributed to its victory.
Flying Pokemon contest will start on 1/2/2012. Till next year!
From: Pokewars | #013 Charizard had its chance. The Flying type is packed with better representatives.
Nope, it did not "have its chance". As a dual-typed Pokemon by definition it has two chances.
And no, Charizard is the best representative of every type. Even water. As the best and most popular Pokemon (save my contests are not a good indicator of popularity, so it not winning Fire is irrelevant) Charizard not winning either of its type categories would be a little bit terrible.
If Charizard can't win in the Fire contest in the Final against Ninetales, I'm sorry. It had its chance to win. I know it's a dual type, but having Charizard in another Final would be boooring.

Empoleon being in another final was boring. It winning another contest was even more boring.
Aww, sad that Mienshao didn't win. It did much better than I thought it would, though. Anyways, I'm excited about the Flying contest. Lots of good Flying types, such as:

Too bad Jeff Zero isn't around. That's one less zard supporter. That Yonex person is also gone.
And hey guys, Whirlybird and the alt master finally left because it was no longer fun around here.

I think so. But then it underperformed in the Normal contest, where it was revealed that several regulars dislike it and were willing to antivote it. Sucks.

mnkboy907 posted... From: barreldragon88 | #033 Why does Staraptor get so much hate anyway? Probably its hairdo.
Probably, emo bird is not for everyone.
I love Staraptor (I love all birds etc.) but he's both my least favorite out of the final starter birds and the least fun to use because he's way too good and straight-forward. He makes DPPt utter CAKE, and i love using things with awkward gimmicks like Noctowl, Altaria or even DUX if I can build it up.
Speaking of which, calling out Ermine and Bosco for the NOCTOWL FTW SUPPORT TEAM.

Isn't it pretty much the best out of the early ingame bird families? That's not saying a whole lot, but it's better than crap like the Pidove line.
Because its stats and moveset are horrendous, Braviary is better in every way.
uh nope
Braviary is my favorite Normal/Flying bird, but Raptor pisses on him and every other normal bird just for having Close Combat available to him, and having the power and speed to back it up.
Braviary is way cooler looking, but that speed stat goof's him over.
