From: TimJab | #008 problems with this episode nothing happened for 45+ minutes; the harrison kidnapping was entirely contrived - no one watching thought harrison was in any real danger travis and miami metro have a relationship that can best be described as "iSketch" dexter lost his boat the same night that there was a RING OF FIRE on the ocean and no one thinks twice no one died except travis. not even jamie, who probably should have. laguerta, quinn and louis storylines are comfortably reset to status quo / shoved under the rug dexter escaped from a skyscraper with a child in a lion costume and an unconscious man wrapped in blankets without anyone noticing no one went into the crime scene before dexter (god, this scene was so f***ing awful. absolutely horses***) i could probably go on but i won't -- http://alison-brie.net/galleries/3.jpg ... From: TimJab | #008 laguerta, quinn and louis storylines are comfortably reset to status quo / shoved under the rug I think Quinn's is still going, Batista wasnt happt about Quinn going the alchoholic route, so we'll see.... as for Louis, his story will return, it HAS to, I mean even Dexter writers can't ignore his story. We SHOULD have had some more closure on him tho, at least let us know what hes up to or something. Laguerta? Meh who cares. The less of her the better. I assume Dex will say its his first kill, because like someone said. He's mad cause Travis took Harrison. Dexter could use some excuse that Travis was mad about him stopping Wormwood.....Dexter was labeled a hero in the papers or something right? Just...hopefully Deb doesnt believe that, cause she SHOULD be able to connect the dots now. First off, season 5 is the worst because literally nothing happened in it. You could go from 4 to 6 and not miss anything. That's bad. Its finale was also worse, which is saying something because THIS finale was awful. But it least it went through with its plotlines, not bend itself backwards to completely undo everything in the span of 15 minutes.

Season 5 had a unique approach, the main villain was pretty much publicly known early on, but was so well-guarded that it took the entire season to unravel him. It didn't always work, but 5 was very well-paced and usually fairly engrossing. Sure, they essentially retconned Astor and Cody and Lumen out of the show, but I take little issue with those things - the kids were f***ing awful to begin with. Astor was no Sally Draper.

From: KimPine | #025 You're acting like people didn't start hating S5 way before the finale. Which is totally not the case. Lumen alone drew a ridiculous amount of complaints throughout. From: GANON1025 | #027 Not entirely true. You still need the aftermath to S4's cliffhanger in there for S6 to make sense. Otherwise, you are literally ignoring that plot thread. i don't think dexter can talk his way out of this one
if he had to, i'd say "i was here collecting evidence and travis showed up and attacked me. we fought, i knocked him out, and then tied him up." that's where his story hits a snag though, since it's where he should have called the police rather than stabbing him in the chest. dexter ****ed up by making things personal with travis. i think it was clear we were heading down this path during deb's shrink sessions and her breakdown on the rooftop. she wanted to catch travis before he finished his killings and disappeared. they were under the impression that travis had made his sacrifice (the police officer) and disappeared forever and that's what caused her to lose it. if dexter kills travis and dumps him in the ocean, then that's exactly what happened in the eyes of everyone but dexter. dexter would have basically cut deb's throat (or at least her career's throat). deb HAD to walk in on the killing, there was pretty much no other way to go. will deb really recognize the MO? i was trying to think of any dexter kill scenes she had seen. jordan chase i guess? i guess that ties dexter to the murders of all his buddies. i wonder if she'll remember lumen. either way, i think the chickens are coming home to roost for dexter. deb will know, the thing is, will she tell anybody? -- http://i55.tinypic.com/20t3qfm.png ... but that doesn't tie dexter to any other murders did they ever come to a determination that the bay harbor butcher victims were killed in that manner? they should have been able to figure out that they were killed with a stab to the chest and probably that they were bound, but i don't know if they ever did since they were in pieces and rotting at the bottom of the ocean. -- http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/670/ohbrett.png ... And I doubt she will figure out he is BHB but the Brian Moser and Jordan Chase parts... maybe. I also came in here to b**** about the ridiculously bad writing this season but Cokes summed it up pretty well. Seriously, Dexter and Travis are just running around kidnapping/killing people and moving their bodies and nobody ****ing notices ever apparently.
