Yeah, but it looks like by just hacking the PSP part you can get access to the entire Vita.

Seems like a pretty easy fix software-wise for Sony, though they COULD just remove BC with PSP. Though the BC is either built into the hardware or just deep within the software so people will just hack it back anyways.

Honestly if they remove a bunch of features to try to prevent hacking, it will just make the system more of a must-hack like the PSP, which means I will probably want to buy it D1 in the US and then never update so that I know I can hack it.

It might flop here, like original PSP... though it'll likely still be a massive hit in Japan which keeps it afloat. PSP didn't end up a top 10 all time selling system because of North America afterall

My PSP has a crack on the screen and I've been wanting to replace it. If this can do the same functionality I might as well get it now

It can play PSP games... but only ones you've downloaded from PSN, as it doesn't have a UMD drive.

And it can only play them for about three hours before the batteries die.

It would be hilarious if this flopped like the PSP Go. The more I hear about Vita the worse it sounds. Some of the games look good, but the hand held itself just has so much it needs to fix.

vitas lineup looks like crap. all i see is uncharted, and the consoles memory card and pricing makes you pay over 350 dollars just to play it.

If I were Sony I wouldn't fight the pirates as any attempts would probably be futile. I'd just put out the best hardware possible and hope people buy one just to hack the s*** out of it.

Gravity Rush, Escape Plan, Wipeout, and Little Deviants are launch games that aren't Uncharted that I'm interested in. Sumioni, Sound Shapes, Dragon's Crown, LBP are launch window games that look good. Plenty out there that isn't Uncharted.

The launch of a new system is a great chance for developers to release new IPs with less risk of a flop.
You should be happy if the Vita does well as it may help the industry in the long run no matter whether you like the system or not.

There is a launch package that comes with a memory card, Little Deviants and some other accessories for like 50 bucks more.

Worth it IMHO since Little Deviants looks fun.

bioshock is not a port (it isn't a launch game either)

and gravity rush looks awesome.

I'm not really seeing anything more than that. Yeah, it's cool to make your own levels that make music, but that doesn't really make the core game better.
