I know it's easy to write him off as an old herp derp republican white guy but check him out first and see what you think. I shamefully admit I voted for Obama but I'll be voting for Dr. Paul in the primary.
Check him out. I think a lot of the liberal gaming community will like what he has to say.

don't agree with him on some things but I'd vote for him just because he's one of the only politicians I've ever seen that seems to be an honest, decent person. most people in washington are easily bought and pressured and that's the biggest reason why our government is a complete joke as of this time.
SmartMuffin posted... From: LordoftheMorons | #010 His economic policies are ridiculous; get rid of all regulation? Really? Not at all. In a free market, regulation is provided by the consumers. If you don't give them what they want, you go out of business.
That doesn't even remotely begin to cover all of the relevant regulation. What's to stop a company from dumping chemicals in the river (or releasing as many greenhouse gases as they want) to save money? Not enough people are going to care enough to boycott the product, and in the end the world is a s****ier place for everyone. The free market isn't the solution to all problems.

Sure he's honest. That doesn't mean most of his ideas aren't deplorable.
Sure he's honest. That doesn't mean most of his ideas aren't deplorable.
I wouldn't call any of them outright deplorable, maybe not all the wisest ideas, but I like the fact that he's willing to put those out there instead of trying to lie his way into office like obama and bush.
Sure he's honest. That doesn't mean most of his ideas aren't deplorable.
Most of his "extreme" plans wouldn't make it through Congress anyway, but he would be able to veto a lot. I think it would be great to have someone in office who isn't corruptible and not afraid to say what he actually believes.

Monopolies and collusion stop this from ever being remotely close to the truth.
Listening to Ron Paul in the 3,987,432 Republican debates has been enough, thanks. His foreign policy is excellent, but his domestic policy is demented.
He was the only member of congress to vote against the Darfur Divestment Act, which proposed the radical idea of prohibiting the American government from investing in businesses fueling a f***ing genocide
Great foreign policy guys.
Ron Paul is disgusting. He has no morals unless it makes him a buck.

That's how people don't care about warrantless wiretapping, secret arrests, indefinite detentions, forced inoculations, arms collecting and the founding fathers being called terrorists in every FBI and DHS training manual.
I like Ron Paul more than the rest because I feel that he is the most honest presidential candidate there is. I don't agree with all of his ideas but he's become much more reasonable recently on issues like welfare, I'd say more reasonable than many other GOP candidates.
I like the fact that he stands up for what he believes in, even if it's not the best idea. Anyway, he believes in limiting the power of the executive branch, so anyone who is afraid his ideas will be forced on everyone is lol.

This country is absolutely f***ed, and the people who have allowed it to get this far deserve what's about to happen to them. If you think the economy is bad now, wait until the dollar fully collapses and banks drain your account like MF Global recently did to pay off their new debts.
If 100% of your assets aren't in physical gold and silver, you haven't been paying much attention.

"Since people are actually talking about Ron Paul like he's not a f***ing loony again, I guess it's time to once more drop the Paulbomb.
Ron Paul wants to define life as starting at conception, build a fence along the US-Mexico border, prevent the Supreme Court from hearing cases on the Establishment Clause or the right to privacy, permitting the return of sodomy laws and the like (a bill which he has repeatedly re-introduced), pull out of the UN, disband NATO, end birthright citizenship, deny federal funding to any organisation which "which presents male or female homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life style or which suggest that it can be an acceptable life style" along with destroying public education and social security,, and abolish the Federal Reserve in order to put America back on the gold standard. He was also the sole vote against divesting US federal government investments in corporations doing business with the genocidal government of the Sudan.
Oh, and he believes that the Left is waging a war on religion and Christmas, he's against gay marriage, is against the popular vote, opposes the Civil Rights Act of 1964, wants the estate tax repealed, is STILL making racist remarks, believes that the Panama Canal should be the property of the United States, and believes in New World Order conspiracy theories, not to mention his belief that the International Baccalaureate program is UN mind control.. Monopolies can only exist if the government creates or protects them.
Collusion is unenforceable, and thus is only temporary if it ever happens at all in a free market environment.

just curious everyone who is like "ron paul is honest so i would support him over everyone else"
what about people on the left like bernie sanders, dennis kucinich, or ralph nader? what about other third party candidates? are you suggesting that they are dishonest or disingenuous in their beliefs? would you support them over a right wing candidate besides ron paul?

Bernie Sanders is like Ron Paul's good twin. Dude rocks. Hell, all those guys you listed rock, because they are like Ron Paul, but minus the racist and the crazy.

they're preferable to obama for certain, people are just more focused on the republicans because there isn't a choice on the left even though obama stated himself that he wouldn't run for president again if people were still upset about the current state of the economy at this point -_-
I was saying "Okay" to some of the stuff, and "Finally someone sees this my way!" on other things. Forget if I agreed on everything, but I could accept everything he said; I have no strong feelings AGAINST anything he said.
But, I have not really looked at any other candidates. Although, I like to judge books by their covers. Seriously, if someone doesn't LOOK like they could be the POTUS, then I won't vote for them, unless something seriously changes my mind.
I'd have to talk with someone I know from school that knows everything about the candidates and asks him what he thinks about Ron Paul. Because he actually has an educated decision, or educated something, lol. I forget the phrase. Maybe it is decision? Idk.
I was thinking about voting for Obama again, but I just think he'll get chewed out by Congress, he won't be able to really even do anything as POTUS, and it'll just be sad because all this stress will make his hair more white and gray.
I kinda wish Hilary Clinton was president. I mean, how bad of job can you do when you have a husband (that you probably see very frequently) that's had 8 years of experience at the job? That's just what I think. I'm not educated on the matter.

Dude, I don't know what I'm saying, so don't freak out.
Anyway, our country has changed, and I don't really care if he is/was racist. My grandparents are younger than him, and they're still racist, but not that much.
Idk, it just seems like the video and what you guys said are 2 different things. I don't think it even matters now (for me), because I'm not voting until 2012.
