All the terrible features of GameFAQs that made it a crappy 90's site are gone now, and CJayC removed none of them. Allen implemented linking in posts, editing, and a new ToS that turned mods iinto more than simple automata. Also, he added video support and a wiki. Could you imagine any of that happening under CJay? He'd contiinue to keep the site stagnant and outdated.
Seriously, every single thing Allen did was at WORST no worse than what we already had. Almost everything was way better.
Though I appreciate what Allen has done to improve the site, I can't forgive him for that ridiculous FD incident and the fact he essentially trolled the board with it afterwards. So it balances out in the end.

Also, all you people who are saying nostalgia are being silly. Allen is clearly way better in every way. It's kind of ridiculous that the site survived, given how horrible CJC was.
The one where FD got done for contest abuse after being modded 20 times in a mafia game for calling somebody scum. He appealed one and it was overturned so he copypasted his appeal into 5 more and then suddenly lost his ability to contest moderations. He took it to Allen who flat rejected everything FD and the rest of the board had to say, despite us being obviously and factually correct. The "SBAllen is a goose" mini-meme sprung from that.
Then he acknowledged the nickname in an unrelated topic a few months later while not actually addressing the situation or doing what was right. It was just stubbornness and it made me really dislike him as an admin, far more than Ceej. He's gone slightly up in my estimation since though with all the new features.
Allen is better in most ways. CJayC was just better for contests and he actually had a sense of humor (Allen's showing today is an anomally).
That's BS. Allen has allowed plenty of funny pics before. Heck, under Cjay's rule joke characters weren't even allowed. Allen allowed L-Block/WCC/Missingno, which CJay never would have done.

XFD Allen has been almost universally awful and the changes that he's implemented have all been obvious ones that it has taken him an inordinate amount of time to put into place.
He refuses to listen to ANYTHING the board says about the contests, even when presented with cold hard evidence about things. His refusal to drop 4-ways when we PROVED to him that the site didn't enjoy them more is astounding. Now that we've got the perfect time to do an all fictional character contest, I'm sure he'll shy away from it because he's absolutely pathetic.
And this is without saying anything about how he treated the FD situation, or his constant backing of people like RaptorLC. SBAllen is terrible, objectively.

I liked the s***storm it caused everytime he posted on a board. was quite rare. pretty much guaranteed 500 topic. He had some really nice talent at making later contest round pics. He was more informative on upcoming contests and actually seemed to want to do them etc. better name than sballz.

Yes, literally every topic he created here got to 500 in a short amount of time, even if Ceej didn't post in it himself after the opening post. It was interesting to see, but at the same time I always thought it was kinda stupid how we were treating him as some kind of rock star.
I liked when CJayC would post in someone else's topic. Usually when you see an average looking topic with a lot of posts you think "Ulti debate" but occasionally it was "CJayC post"

Yeah but they're still jokes. I mean where there ever rallies for the likes of WCC in Ceej's reign? I think people just started pushing the envelope. First people rally to get Nidoran F in, then they're like "well if NIDORAN F got in, let's get a TETRIS BLOCK in!" I don't see Cjay refusing to allow L-Block really. Unless he did put his foot down on that at some point, I don't know.

Ceej was involved with the 2007 contest, so I guess he did allow L-Block in, although maybe Bacon wanted to and Ceej said "Hey you're admin now." He did specifically say that L-Block wasn't allowed in 2004 I believe. Not positive on that though.

Allen is incredibly obstinate. With CJayC it felt like you were actually talking to a person with feedback tickets and appeals to admins and on the board. With SBAllen it's like an automated response system where you're wrong in some convoluted way or blown off. Any changes he implements that users on GameFAQs want are by pure luck I'm pretty sure.

And really that should've been obvious in the first place when he picks your match pic for literally every match you submit one for.
I'm not saying your pics are usually bad or anything-- and this is not to discourage you from picsmithing or anything, because they're usually fine, but you've had some terrible ones that somehow got picked anyway even when they weren't the only submission.
Some of your offerings this round were particularly bad. Since we can't depend on Allen to filter out your bad ideas, please stop making pics in the "theme" where you just hurl a bunch of sprites/whatever related to the game onto a background from the game. They're much too busy/cluttered for their own good. Maybe you already got this, but it needed to be said if you didn't, and this is as good a place as any to bring it up since it's tangentially topical.
