In the interest of having more opportunities and hopefully breaking a tie, we're gonna go with Camden's second suggestion.
Dec 17th - Dec 24th - 7 games Dec 26th - Dec 29 - 7 games Dec 30th - Dec 31st - 9 games Jan 2nd- 6 games Jan 3rd - Jan 9th - 6 games
Week 1 will consist of the games played between 12/17 and 12/24. You will pick every game ATS. I will provide the spreads as of RIGHT NOW. If the spread moves, too bad, you pick based on what I provide. You get more than 50% correct, you earn a point. You don't, you don't! Simple enough, right?
New Mexico Bowl: Temple -7 vs Wyoming Idaho Potato Bowl: Utah State -1 vs Ohio New Orleans Bowl: San Diego State -4.5 vs UL Lafayette St Petersburg Bowl: Florida International -4 vs Marshall Poinsettia Bowl: TCU -10 vs Louisiana Tech MAACO Las Vegas Bowl: Boise State -14 vs Arizona State Hawaii Bowl: Southern Miss -6.5 vs Nevada

Hard to go with any of the underdogs when my straight-up picks are all considered favorites (I'm really surprised; I was sure Utah State would be an underdog), but yeah, SDSU-ULL is enough of an unsure thing in my mind to go with the points.

Okay, time to start the preparations for the next contest. Gotta be almost time for VGMC6, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KloeGqCPszo
I take it this means all favorites to cover? Though I'm not sure if it'll count since the first one was already underway (and Temple was already leading 7-0)...
Kinda hoping it doesn't since it's too similar to mine. Right now, if I'm 3-0 at the end of today, everyone else who's close to me would be 1-2 or worse, which is good because we're all in agreement about the other four and I'd need to be either 1-3 or 2-2 to be the only one getting a point except for perhaps SmartMuffin. If this one counts, I'd have to be 1-3 on the last four to be the only one (except probably SmartMuffin) getting a point!

Meh. +7 is a big spread when it comes to two kind of crappy non-BCS teams so I figured it made sense to play the points, but whatever. These early bowl games are boring.

You gotta look beyond just "non-BCS".
Wyoming
Quality wins/losses
Wyoming 30, @ San Diego State 27 TCU 31, @ Wyoming 20
Bad wins/losses
@ Wyoming 35, Weber State 32 Wyoming 28, @ Bowling Green 27 @ Utah State 63, Wyoming 19 Wyoming 22, @ Colorado State 19
Uh...yeah. And that's just the final scores--that season opener against Weber State, they scored a touchdown with 22 seconds remaining to take the lead. Yes, that's right...they nearly lost to an FCS team. Temple:
Quality wins/losses
Penn State 14, @ Temple 10 Temple 38, @ Maryland 7
Hard to consider many of Temple's wins "quality" despite the large margins because the MAC is so bad, but they had conference wins with scores of 41-3, 42-0, and 34-0.
There honestly isn't anything in that entire list of scores that sends up a serious red flag to me, except for the 63-19 loss at Utah State. The good wins/losses are relatively equal (San Diego State is a better win than Maryland), and close call wins are still wins. Temple's resume was slightly better, and I did pick them to win the game in my bowl mania picks, but it wasn't enough for me to pick them -7 with any sort of confidence.
Also notable is that the only time I actually watching Wyoming play a game was against Nebraska, and they made Nebraska look like s*** for an entire half.
The first thing the ref said was that "the ruling on the field is a completed catch". That means there's still a chance that Ohio actually just turned it over on downs.

Paratroopa1 posted... TCU annoys me by not covering.
Agreed. sonten and Camden were already both guaranteed no point for this round even before that. You and I both get a point if both Boise State and Southern Miss cover, and if either of those two fail to cover, then SmartMuffin is the only one who gets a point this round.

I'm a cat person, but I can still appreciate a SuperNiceDog.
I don't understand why they didn't do a game on the 23rd, there's nothing else going on. Why, for instance, would you hold a bowl game on the 24th, on Christmas Eve and competing with the NFL, instead of tonight?
