I had never registered anything, save LoZ:OOT3DS to get the Soundtrack, but when I saw that you could redeem points for games, I looked through all my Wii and DS cases for the little slips. Found my 3DS Pin (that was the big one), my two new 3DS games, and a bunch of Wii and DS games that I hadn't thrown the paper away for. All in all, I now have just under 800 points. Gonna get Super Mario Kart on my Wii.
Tomorrow I'll head into work (Blockbuster) and see if any of the games there have more. I'm gonna be rich with Nintendo Points!
Save the codes once you reach platinum or you are just wasting them unless you are going for a specific prize. Membership status resets at the end of the year bringing your yearly points to zero meaning that points entered after you reached platinum status will have no effect on your membership status in the next ninten-year.
Oh and I hear that you can add 'family' members to add the same games multiple times.
From: PartOfYourWorld | #005 I had just enough to get the Zelda posters (so nice). What does Gold/Platinum status get you?
It's different every year. I don't remember what Gold got (some lame calendars usually) but Platinum got:
2009: Choice of Mario hat or exclusive downloadable Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!, a mini-version of Punch-Out!! Wii where you fight Doc Louis. 2010: A statue featuring the cast of the Super Mario Bros. series. 2011: A set of 24 pins featuring sprites from Super Mario Bros.
I just did the whole, "registering everything" thing myself, having done nothing but OoT 3D and a few downloadable games' surveys in the past. Got to a little over 600 for my platinum pretty easy. Still got 3 Wii games, a fair number of not-that-old DS games that should work, and though I've linked it up, I think I still have my actual 3DS to register too. >_>
