Cloud and Sephiroth started with a Master-Disciple complex which progressed into mortal enemies and that's it. Red and Blue are the only true Rivals in the whole competition list, which if we go by the pure unbiased definition of rivalry, Wright and Edgeworth come in second, and either Squall and Seifer or Mario and Bowser coming in third. And the Trainers natural day vote strength is not up to par with the Cloud/Seph natural day vote strength. So Cloud/Seph will trail for a while but end up winning comfortably.
