Syphon filter games werent too far off, but recent ones arent great. 1 and 2 were incredible.

syphon filter 1,2,and 3 are amazing, but i wouldn't really compare them to MGS

The atmosphere, story, characters, twists, I guess. I don't mind different genres.

Except shmups. I hate shmups.

I haven't played the first one, but I heard it's the weakest in the series.
Also Hitman Contracts is like a remake of the first one,plus a few new levels.
