So he is stepping down from a position where he didn't really take control of creating the video games and instead is taking up a position where he will be more involved in making the games? Sounds good to me!

Still, it's probably good to have people who love and understand games at the top of a company (see Inafune's rant on Capcom). Iwata seems to care but probably not in the same way as Miyamoto...hopefully Nintendo keeps good people at the top! Even if they are behind on certain things like online gaming, they still have a lot of magic.

We all love Shiggy, but is it not time for some new blood over at Nintendo? Especially with the Wii U coming, they need people who understand the current gen.

They've actually been doing a lot of hiring of young developers lately.

I really hope this true. Nintendo needs to make some big changes if they want to survive in the HD era, and drastically reducing Miyamoto's influence seems like a great way to do that.
