I wouldn't say that's exactly true. Basil is specifically known as "The Magician" and does a couple things you would generally expect of magic users.


Just out of curiosity though, why was Basil disqualified?

Because his powers were limited to prognostication and any actual magical abilities he might possess seem to be hearsay. He doesn't seem to actually cast any spells or be able to do any magic beyond that, and that's just not good enough for this contest.

I consider the fruit an augment; characters should be possess the knowledge without needing something to give it to them.

Well like I said, he does have some voodoo abilities, but I can understand not letting him in based on just that.

As for the fruit, I really think that shouldn't be held against him seeing as it's not a tangible item it's something that's part of him. He doesn't need a fruit anymore to use his abilities.
