Eight months ago I asked you guys to collectively recommend me 100 songs which I then listened to and ranked. I consider the results a success, as I discovered two of my favorite albums of all time (Moon Safari and Sound of Silver(^5 Rusty)) and potentially my most favorite song of all time (“All My Friends”). I’m going to need something to kill time in the coming months, so I figured breaking this out again could be fun.

It works pretty simply, really. Any user can recommend up to four songs (as opposed to five from last time). You aren’t required to nominate four. This means that, at minimum, 25 people will have recommended me music. Woo diversity. The song can be anything. Any genre, any year, any label, any anything. Anything from heavy metal to classical to folk to vgm is valid. Last time I made the request that no extremely long songs be recommended, and I’m going to make it again, but in fairness I’m not going to disqualify anybody’s nomination if they do happen to nominate a 40 minute heavy metal dubstep rock opera. Once 100 songs have been nominated, I will listen to and rank them, and then make a separate topic revealing the list and including the best and most informative write-ups you’ve ever read.

One final note: in true Zazi list-making fashion, this is going to be slow burned to hell and back. The first time it took three months. This time I can guarantee it will take longer, especially with holidays. Be ready to tag and bump the nomination topic while I listen and rank the songs and the ranking topic while I do the write-ups and rearrange the list as songs grow on me.

With all that said, you may begin nominating songs.

Oh yeah, links to the songs please. It makes my life so much easier, and it allows you to ensure the version you want gets nominated.

Well, I've counted through the songs, and it appears I've ended up with 112, so I screwed up in my math while trying to keep track of how many songs had been nominated. Seeing as I don't want to be a dick and prevent people from participating in on the fun/miss out on any great songs because I failed at simple addition, I guess I'm stretching this to 112 songs. So woo to that.
