From: Metal_DK | #332 extha, you need to get out more. Do you know how many of the people who are playing their gigs at bars have jack **** for money? Most. The good ol "struggling musician" is everywhere in the bar room scene.
Berlusconi is an "alpha male" because he has ****ing money and power. You are acting like hed be fine if he wasnt the prime minister of a country.
And your bar room 60k guy is another bad example. What if the guy with a 60k/70k job walked in a bar with HIS group of friends? YOU are the one strictly defining people here. Its laughable how you cant see that.
Extha: "Guess what guys! All 60/70k a year people with a job have no friends and go to a bar alone!!!!"
Cmon dude.
Okay it seems like we're not too far off in what we actually believe so let's just be clear on some things.
I only stuck with your "tatted up struggling musician" because that's the example you gave. My whole point is that it matters not what you are. Being a musician is actually a huge display of social proof and would hit plenty of female attraction switches, first of all. Why is it that you see girls crowd around dudes who play in bands at a bar after they've finished playing?
But anyway that's besides the point, and please understand that my Berlusconi example was only to prove that ALPHA CHARACTERISTICS (power/fame are some of them) can trump everything (age). Maybe it was a bad example, but it was the first that came to my mind. I guess in the same light, do you think the tatted up musician is going to be picking up girls without his alpha characteristics? No, he isn't.
Certainly if the dude making 70k walked into the bar with his group of friends (hopefully some of them are girls) and was holding court with them, his social proof would be high and he wouldn't come off as a beta. But having social proof like that is an alpha characteristic.
I'm not trying to strictly define anyone, I'm just trying to get you to agree that having a 70k a year salary isn't going to matter without developing the alpha personality around it. Look at SmartMuffin. That dude drives a Lexus and he hasn't touched a vagina since he came out of his mother.
-- "I can't do this all on my own... no I know, I'm no Superman." Be careful here...
From: SantaRPG | #356 to be fair smartmuffin is a special case
He really isn't. There are so many guys that never "got it" kicking around their jobs wondering why girls won't give them the time of day.
Also Metal, if you think Silvio Berlusconi isn't alpa beyond just his money you're crazy. There are plenty of rich dudes who cheat on their wives and have it blow up in their faces. Silvio's family literally DEFENDS HIM for his actions.
-- "I can't do this all on my own... no I know, I'm no Superman." Be careful here...
Question: instead of "faking it 'til you making it," why not just actually become alpha? This is what I've never understood about the other side; I personally enjoy being socially dominant and in-control, and I have no reservations using and exploiting people for this purpose.

i do agree with what you are saying. I THINK where we disagree is how you can still get women if you dont have the "alpha male personality".
I think money and fame can trump "godly social skills and self promoting yourself every minute of the day". And guess what? I think the other way around can work too.
What i will say is this. If you are ever looking for a long term relationship, if you want to stay attractive to a girl you better have a decent job. There is a reason why statistically most women want their boyfriends and husbands to make more money then them. That might change over time, but its the truth right now.

to be fair on the job thing too, my most recent ex got a really sweet job and had an almost 100k inheritance coming his way towards the end of our relationship and i still dumped him because he suddenly turned into a big blubbering vagina and that's completely unattractive

I don't need to be dominant to feel in-control. I have plenty control over my own actions, that I don't feel the desire to control others'. That's the type of confidence that I stick by, and nothing will change that.

name me a rich dude on the level of fame that had it blow up in their faces.
Kobe Bryant? Nah, the girl kept him. Bill Clinton? Nah, even the woman that some feminists look up to kept Bill
I mean the rich business guy who makes 180k a year? Ya that **** happens. But comparing Berlusconi to that is kinda...off.
Silvio's family defends him because they dont want to be out of the spotlight. They know their best chance to remain in that high society is to just admit that he should be able to do what he wants.

You don't have control over getting women, obviously!
And as for the morality comment... yeah, you've got me there. Doesn't bother me though.

Having a decent job will help you with long term relationships, that was never up for debate tbh. We were initially talking about having sex with attractive college aged girls.
You are spot on that women want their men to make more in marriages though. It's why modern feminism is such a problem. Women want to have their cake and eat it too.

Your type of "getting women" is superfluous and unnecessary in my world.

yay we agree there!
i will say though i wanted you to respond more to the first half of that post. Where i think money and fame can trump amazing social skills and self promotion. I also think the other way around can work too, but you seem to think only social skills can trump all, or at least thats the vibe im getting.

I think money and fame are alpha characteristics, to clarify. They kind of all blend into 'power' which is probably the mightiest of them all.
But usually they come with the other alpha characteristics. Like if you're rich and famous and powerful you probably are a self-confident alpha, you know what I'm saying?
Social skills and displaying alpha characteristics can trump all though. You probably won't be walking into a bar and stealing Kobe Bryant's girl, but you can still pick from a wide selection.

i guess you could argue that money and fame are alpha characteristics. I will say i mentioned that in some of my first posts and nobody really acknowledged it, or they said i was wrong and that an alpha male is the "self promoting guy who looks like he should be on the jersey shore" (for the lack of a better description) .
As for the rich and famous meaning you are a self-confident alpha....eh its debatable. Arent you a giants fan? Eli Manning is far from a self-confident alpha. Its somewhat "anecdotal" and "exception to the rule" bringing him up, but there are plenty of rich and famous people who arent "i deserve all women to sleep with me, im the greatest thing ever" jersey shore types.
And tbh, maybe my 4 years of high school football and track taught me this, but confidence to me isnt about thinking "im the best, you all suck", its about getting others to believe in themselves.

Your idea of high quality and my idea of high quality obviously differ greatly.
It's proven to help sustain lasting relationships as well
Where is the data on this? It's been cited often enough that I'm assuming someone has actually gone ahead and looked at it.
