Very good episode, the beginning kinda ruined it though. Made it too easy to predict what would happen.

The beginning only made me expect Shane to survive, which I was expecting anyway. Didn't think it was gonna go down like that.

Favorite episode of the season.

I'd want Shane to die, but I completely understand why he did it.

It was either they both go down, or one of them survive and get the stuff back to Carl to save his life as they wanted. And since Otis made it obvious he wouldn't go without him, Shane made the decision to leave him to die to save Carl. Really, it's pretty easy to see why Shane did it. It's cold as hell, but it's better than the alternative of a wasted trip where both of them die.

Shane is my number two favorite on the show now.

Making Otis bait wasn't even the biggest offense Shane did in this episode though.

He ruined a perfectly good sink by clogging it with his hair. Do you know how hard it is to get a good sink during the zombie apocalypse? It wasn't even his house either!

He just let the hair fall in dry. It would have been easy to collect and toss so long as he didn't turn the faucet on.

I will say this: this episode proved Shane doesn't know much about head shaving. His only poor moment of the episode.

Makes you wonder how it didn't hit Shane, if it went through a 200 pound deer in the chest and halfway through the stomach of a kid.

Meh I actually thought it was kinda cheesy how Shane shot him in the leg. There was no reason not to just shoot him the head, saves him the hassle and Otis the suffering.

Great episode. I've been waiting for them to get to situations like this. Lori not sure if her son living is a good thing or not and Rick trying to find ways to explain why it is. Daryl giving up a little exposition and Andrea clinging to any strong male figure. Watching them trade favors for the hanging zombies life was so hauntingly pragmatic. And lastly, Shane. If it was anyone it would be Shane. It HAD to be Shane. Shane isn't Rick but he's not Daryl. He's still a cop, still a good guy, but he lost his humanity at the end of last season and after this he won't be getting it back. So good. This episode so good.

They may not really care if something is recently dead, but do we know that Shane knows that? Daryl and Andrea were the ones who saw the leg guy, not Shane. And besides...that isn't a chance he can really risk. If he kills Otis and they just keep on going for the guy who is alive, he just killed someone only to end up screwing himself over as well and it was all for nothing.

The hanging zombie had legs eaten but that likely happened while he was still human. You guys are really missing the point with the Shane situation: He didn't keep him alive because he thought the zombies preferred live food--though it worked out favorably--he did it because he's a torn man, one who wanted to survive but was still a good person who didn't want to kill. This is the same man who almost raped Lori then risked his life to save her son. He is the first character on this show to exhibit real depth and complexity and has taken over the show quite easily.
