a 78% is critically acclaimed now? 75% is like average
To be fair to it, while I wouldn't at all call it "critically acclaimed," it'd be at least an 80% or higher if reviews like Destructoid's didn't tank it. In no world does it deserve a 45. Below 70 is stretching it, even.
The point is that it's a legitimately good game.
Not like, awe-inspiring.
Just good.

define gamer. Tbh, i feel a gamer is somebody who is a fan of multiple genres and keeps up with gaming news. While i agree that a game like modern warfare 3 has a higher number of people who just care about cod, its because the game sells so much more.
There are plenty of hardcore gamers who are excited for modern warfare 3. Gamester81 (a much more hardcore gamer than you will probably ever will be) is very excited for modern warfare 3 and has the first modern warfare in his top 100 games of all time. So ya. I agree with you that it attracts a large casual crowd, but to say no "gamers" look forward to it....ya just stop now before you sound even dumber.

I am waiting for Battlefield 3 (mainly since it looks like a good FPS, something CoD has not had since CoD 4) but I am in no way anticipating the hell out of it. Till I got my work schedule today and saw I was still running the Midnight release of it, I had forgot it existed.

I don't hate FPS, Goldeneye is in my top 30, CoD 4 is in my top 50, Metroid Prime Trilogy edition is in my top 40, MP3C is in my top 70, and Halo CE is in my top 40. Gears 1 and 2 are both top 90, even though they are not FPS.
That's 5, which is more than any other genre except RPG, Adventure, and Platform.

It was a pointless picture from the start, designed simply to troll Sonic fans at the expense of logic (it applies to, like, Sonic 2006, I think?). Arguing whether or not it's been broken is kind of futile, since it was just produced to piss off Sonic fans in the first place - why would people stop using it now just because of "one" game?

These were the same liars who said MW2 was the most anticipated game of the decade. A decade that contained Brawl, TP, the GTA games, and Halo 2 and 3. There's alot more that I could name that were more anticipated than MW2. But you get the point.

Are those games mainly FPS or WoW, cause if so, you don't fall under "real gamers" and therefore should stay out of the conversation.
That's some crazy criteria you got there, seeing as those are "games" and gamers play games...
But that's besides the point. FPS is one of my least favorite genres (pretty much only CoD), and I don't go near WoW. I play fighting games, RPGs, Strategy games (Real-Time and Turn Based), Adventure, Platform games, and Guitar Hero (oh noes!!)
It's obvious I just have super powers, how else could I both be a gamer and anticipate MW3?
