Contest will start on Monday. 26 rounds planned.

My excitement level for this contests pales in comparison to what it was for the Water contest. It wasn't easy coming up with 15 Grass Pokemon I actually cared about. I had to use Google to find art to help generate interest in some Pokemon...

Seems like a lot of people are looking forward to the contest, though, since they voted for it.

Yeah, grass is pretty much meh. The only ones I'll really be pulling for are Sawsbuck and Grovyle. After that... I have no idea.

I would be against eliminating 4 up until the top 20, that's a bit much.

I thought it was established that we wouldn't do Fire, Water, and Grass in a row last round. I'm almost certain that was said by barrel.

Shouldn't it be flying or did I miss something?

Maybe adding a couple of rounds by eliminating 3 from 40 to 22? Maybe it wouldn't be a big improvement, but it feels weird to cut 1/6 of the field in one round at some point.

We could have 2 rounds a day sometimes, so that 2 or however many pokemon don't all go out in the same round at the same time.

People have missed out on one round a day. I don't think increasing it to two rounds is going to be a hindrance that much. A lot of the participants still discuss stuff long after rounds are over.

Having two rounds a day would shorten the length of each round, which is also frowned upon.

It doesn't have to be shortened. If you start at 1 pm EST and it ends at 5/6 or whatever, doesn't mean there can't be an evening/later round that goes from 6 to 11/12. People do stay logged on + the people living out West.

I really think it should be one Pokemon eliminated per round for the top 10. And no more that 1 round per day (unless the following round is the finale and last 24 hours).

And of course, I'm strongly in favor of rounds lasting at least 8 hours. I really like participating in these contests but I do have a job and don't get to use the internet while I'm working. And longer rounds mean opportunity for more people to participate.

Well, I haven't actually played through any Gen IV games all the way, so I wouldn't know what the fossil Pokemon are. 17 is still not enough for a contest. They'll all be in the Rock Pokemon contest, anyway, which btw, no one has nominated for. Guess people don't care about Rock types lol.
