I'm more amused by the prospect of a guy who spent ~70 USD on a game (that some basic internet research would have told him he would hate) on launch day telling other people that they're stupid about spending their money.

Hulk, haggar, and Sent aren't exactly the pinnacle of strategy.

And yet just about every time I see you post nowadays, I can count on you trying to rain on somebody's parade.

I guess that's the one thing you try to focus on in the limited time you spend on Board 8 nowadays.

But I'll just throw out one word of advice as a friend and I'll be done:

You care way too much about being right all the time.

X-factor is overpowered, and in certain cases, almost broken. Thankfully, it's getting toned down in UMVC3, along with many other good choices they're making for overall balancing the gameplay.

As for Phoenix/Gordon, I don't even care what you think. You have a terrible habit of claiming matches are TOTALLY OBVIOUS and then either gloating for months afterwards if you're right (Samus/Mario) or playing it off like you never said a thing (Fire Emblem/No Mercy.) There are arguments to be made for both sides, and anyone who pulls the 'you guys always fall for stuff' card is white noise to me, especially considering I picked Jecht last year.

Wait really? Like what? X Factor ruined the game and cheapened comebacks, so if they fixed it we may actually have a good game here.

1. X-factor is toned down
2. Can't block in the middle of air dashes anymore
3. Overall character balance is better (Phoenix and Wolverine got rocked)
4. Hitstun has been decreased, meaning shorter comboes all around

Ect.

X-Factor damage and duration is decreased, though the duration is character-specific which is kinda lame. Hyper Combos during X-Factor are affected by damage scaling now. You can also deploy X-Factor in the air.

Only other thing to be unscaled were Level 3's, and those need to be unscaled or they plain out suck.

I just accepted the X-Factor three meant you died no matter what.

All of the mechanics changes are sounding pretty good right about now.

And yeah, level threes need to be unscaled to be worth it, but I think everyone's cool with that.

Ooh, you'll like this too cause I think I remember you complaining about it before: Aerial Exchanges aren't completely brain-dead now. If you successfully counter an Aerial Exchange, you can combo off of it. I've also heard rumors, but haven't noticed it myself, that the window for countering an exchange is longer, and that when one is attempted, a color which corresponds to the direction pressed flashes for a moment, so it's not a total guessing game.

This explains literally everything.

In X-Factor, there was still damage scaling, but the minimum damage was 50% of the standard damage, rather than the 10-40% (depending on character and type of attack). This 50% has been lowered to 35%, effectively cutting down X-Factor damage in long combos to 2/3 of what it was.

uhh yeah that's amazing

and yeah, Gumshoe alt should really be an Apollo Justice alt imo, but I think they needed a "dark" alt and Gumshoe fit the bill

I was really partial to that fake Shelly De Killer alt that someone made up though

Kinda weird that they paired Kay with Godot and Mia with Edgeworth, when Kay/Edgeworth and Mia/Godot both make a lot more sense.
