I'm still kind of worried that a "rivalry factor" will get him win. Dr. Breen isn't exactly notable and people might think about the personality, etc of the characters more than otherwise because of the nature of the contest, or something.

Still going with Freeman, though.

edit: Polls like today's usually mean next to nothing, though.

I'm sorry, but exactly when did "I have not played Phoenix Wright" translate into "I will always vote for Phoenix Wright's opponent?"

Honestly, I think a large percentage of the site being aware of the OBJECTION! meme is actually a good sign for Phoenix because that means enough people out there at least find the meme funny enough in and of itself to vote for Phoenix, and that could be a factor with "swing" voters who've never played a game from either series.

I agree, I actually think this poll shows greater strength for Phoenix than I expected.

This poll is pretty bad for people who argue that Phoenix/Edgeworth would be helped by the rivalry, though! Would people vote for Captain/CATS that wouldn't vote for CATS?

I don't think there are any stats in this poll that would reliably confirm or deny that Edgeworth would help Phoenix. I think it's totally an intangible thing and pretty much a wild ass guess.

Also, what do you guys think Half-Life's play rate would be?

I honestly don't think it's very high. Higher than AA, sure, but I'd be shocked if it was over 60%.

From what I've heard, the Phoenix/Edgeworth rivalry is the centerpoint of that series while Freeman/Breen is a mere hero/villain relationship, in a game where you can ignore the plot no less.

There are three more big reasons why I'm sticking with Phoenix > Gordon (in fact, I'm sure of it and am even banking on it in my battle bracket, which I am attempting for the first time):

-I picked Half-Life 2 > Metroid Prime last year and look how well that worked out.

-Half-Life 2 has monster critical accliam, and so does Freeman himself. But no one gives a darn about Gordon Freeman vs. Dr. Breen. Half-Life 2 is more like humanity vs. the Combine.

There are arguments for Phoenix/Edgeworth beating Freeman/Breen. None of the above (except the series-focus one, I guess, but even that's tenuous) are close to being legitimate ones.

I am open to opinions. I don't think the prequel trilogy are among the absolute worst movies out there (If you say this, you haven't see Hands of Manos), but I would say they are the most disappointing movies of all time. Really the only other possible contender is Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but at least it was one disappointing movie and not three.

lol i won't feel good about it until after the match. I keep thinking about switching to Gordon, afraid that maybe my love of Wright is clouding my judgement. Afterall, I've seen plenty of times when B8 has overestimated an entrant's chances. But it's only a 1-point match anyway, so I may as well go with my first choice.
