Even with 5000 word History papers, I don't start researching until like 5 PM the day before it's due. I learned long ago that if I tried doing it early I'd just end up going 'aaaagh this is so dumb why am I doing this early' that more time would be wasted than if I waited until the absolute last second and slapped myself every time I thought that by saying 'no this has to be done now you're literally not going to sleep tonight already even if you work with no breaks'.

I usually get B's, so hey, the system works.
