Not familiar if there's any biological reason for this, but I have this habit where when I'm talking, I need to be moving around. It's especially bad on the phone, as I will pace around the entire house while making a conversation.
A lot of times I think of something while walking around, then when I sit down to write whatever I was thinking down, it never is expressed in the same way I thought of it while moving.
I'm probably just a crazy person but I figure I may as well as who else is crazy.

Yeah, actually. If I'm thinking really hard about something, I get up and start pacing the room. I'm pretty sure this is normal though, I think humans learn better when moving around and interacting with the environment, even tangentially.

It's not that we really learn or think better while moving, as it is just... How you are. If you're the type that can't stay still for very long/is always doing something, then something like pacing will make it easier to think since you won't be fighting the urge to do something like you would if sitting.

When thinking about how to do homework, etc. I find it easier to sit, but when I'm trying to mentally work out personal problems or something, walking seems to work much better.

It's rare we do homeworks walking though, since it would be kinda unpractical.

It just drives me nuts because I can't transition properly. I have a series of great thoughts, I sit down to write them down, and most of them have changed or are gone completely. It's frustrating because it seems to be more for independent thought. When I'm trying to solve problems ala mathematics, I can sit down no problem and complete the assignment no problem.

Yeah, I've become quite aware of this. I like to write stories, and I often plan going on walks just to think up new ideas for my stories. Walking/pacing around is awesome.

I like to think while driving. It's frustrating because there's no way to write things down, but I have some of my best ideas while driving down a canyon road or something.

Randomly pacing around the house recording my thoughts feels really, really creepy.

Like that episode of Scrubs where Turk has a tape recorder, and he just spends most of the time singing into it.
I'm pretty sure most people who use tape recorders do that though.
