Actually, it would be pretty cool if the MP component was just allowing people to control your squadmates via drop-in, drop-out co-op.

Or they could do the Fable III route.

Publishers already have. EA, for instance, offer a "limited run" (which is really just their entire first pressing) in which the customer gets a $10-15 bonus. For Alice: Madness Returns, it was an exclusive copy of American McGee's Alice. For Dead Space 2, it was the Wii game, Dead Space Extraction.

You have had to pay $10 for career mode for used EA Sports games for a while IIRC... I don't actually play them so I dunno
