I think I prefer summoners rift.

Dominion plays like a caged death match. I know a lot of people wanted that, so it's cool.

Tactics matter in Dominion. Strategy matters in Summoner's Rift. I'd say.

I think I know what you mean.

Evelynn and Twitch are strong in Dominion because they can basically cut across the map with ease and backdoor the enemy. And they can do this all game. Burst champs dominate because they can get their builds faster than anybody, and building defensively is basically useless.

the only mundo I've seen in dominion so far was when I was playing as nocturne and basically he fed me W procs all day long

Early game = rock your solo lane with dem poisons and be impossible to gank at level 6 with mushrooms.

Mid game = map awareness, farm farm farm split push

Late game = ok now you can rock again because you are farmed.

His middle game is pretty... uh... bad, I think, unless you get massively fed during laning. But he makes up for it by being a boss in most 1v1 lanes and dishing out a ton of damage + map awareness during late game.

Solid champion imo.

Dominion is team fighting.

Lots and lots and lots of team fighting.




Some people are not good at team fights -__-

To team fight well there is a major emphasis on reading the situation.
Reading the entire situation.


That means knowing all of their champions that are nearby.
Knowing all of yours that are nearby.
Reading the relative positions to know who is the most desirable position to attack.
Factoring in who will be easiest or most useful to kill.
And a great many other things.

And then on top of that it involves recalculating that knowledge every second. When one of those factors changes you HAVE to be aware of it. Sometimes it will take the tiniest change to turn a situation in which you should be running away into a situation in which you should turn and attack.

But usually when those changes in a fight situation occur there are only a few people on the team correctly responding to them. 2 people turn around, 1 person does not, and then the equation is imbalanced again.



Team fighting is a LOT more than just using your abilities. Just because all your abilities were on cooldown doesn't mean you used any one of them to their most effective capacity. And just the same don't mistake getting kills for proper team fight skill. "I killed XX last battle, ergo I did my part" is not the kind of logic that holds up. The only thing that does hold up is:
diving when its time to dive.
pulling back when its time to pull back.
switching targets when a subtle difference in their positioning makes it correct to do so.
And the numerous other things you have to pay attention to in a fight.

And if ever you lose a fight you have to ask "what could I have been doing differently? What factors were changing in real time that I did not pay enough attention to?" And every once in awhile you might conclude that you did nothing wrong. Maybe you were the guy who dove when it was time to dive, but your 2 allies kept running because they didn't pick up on the signs. But chances are there was something more effective to have been done.




Additionally in Dominion there is an ebb and flow to the push and push back of the map. You have to be aware of how many are alive which sometimes means STOP PUSHING once you have 3 towers because everyone is at half health and they need to heal. Being dead for 20 seconds is actually a big deal and it something that should be avoided most times. And yes sometimes it is appropriate to die just to delay them from neutralizing a turret, but a lot of deaths are preventable just by going back to heal instead of running into the middle of the map after you secure a point and now are only somewhat healthy. In addition to getting back to 100% health you will also be able to buy and are doubly reinforced.

dominion is a lot of 3v3 or smaller fighting. so people who are good at team fights in SR can be awful in team fights on dominion.

5v5 rarely happens in dominion unless people are trying to rush a single point and overwhelm.

I find that too many people feel compelled to capture all of the points.

Just holding a majority of the points is enough to keep your score from dropping on its own, but people always try to push for more, which leads to them dying more often than not. It's one thing if you've practically aced the enemy team and want to get one more point, but it's another to try and take risks when you have the advantage.

Nothing infuriates me more than taking a turret and having people not go back to heal. The best part of dominion is the balance between chasing kills and taking turrets. Every team needs someone with Priscilla's Blessing. That 15 percent capture rate is too good. Throwing it on a speedy tank like Rammus or Singed or Mundo is a massive advantage.

Get a half decent caster. Hextech Sweeper. Laugh as you get an item that has basically everything you'd ever want in a caster AND counters Akali hard. Also, you can check bushes with it. Lightbringer also works but it's not nearly as good. Though Akali is a viable ban because her gap closer and heal are also pretty nuts.

Rammus, however, just plain breaks dominion. You can't 1v1, you can't 3v3 him, and he constantly puts pressure everywhere because of his speed. He's ban or pick.

Also, a huge thing people aren't doing right now in dominion is denying information. Say you're holding 3-2. Do NOT just go and sit 3 people on top turret and two people on bot turret. This is incredibly stupid. Park your guys out of line of sight somewhere, preferably in a brush. If you don't, all that's going to happen is you're going to get two people going top, one going bot, and then two go into the mid. Now you have absolutely no idea whether those two in the mid are going to cap your mid point, are going to reinforce top, or are going to reinforce bot.

4 caps shouldn't be uncommon. It is not hard to force your opponents to have to take risks if you're ahead. (holding 4 caps for a very long time, that's another story) I believe 4:1 is triple the value of 3:2, so holding 4:1 for 20 seconds is like holding 3:2 for a minute. I think I read somewhere that a 5 cap has a similar boost over a 4 cap, but 5 caps are really impractical because you basically need to win everywhere at once for it to not immediately turn back to 3:2.

everyone else is manageable, but it seems like those 5 champions cannot be uprooted once they get a foothold.

dunno how the heimer flaws slipped through the cracks. his turrets interrupt capturing points, they have a much larger range than almost every auto attack in the game so it forces you to take massive damage or waste tons of time/mana using abilities on them, and they have asstons of HP so it's not like taking 1 or 2 hits in the time it takes to kill them. this isn't even approaching the problem where it's so close-quartered that he is pretty much guaranteed to land a stun and his rockets while you're taking turret damage.

Trynd is amazing for the same reason he's amazing on TT: he's literally like top 3 1v1 champs because it's impossible to kill him for 6 seconds while he kills the 2-3 people around him and there's nothing you can do to stop that unless you were lucky enough to have your teammates with stun/ignite around when you find him

xin is good, no doubt, but I don't think he's any worse than yi or olaf or nocturne

I think they need to make the health grabs scale a little better. They're like 150 at the start and like don't get much higher even when your hp multiplies. The reward from getting one later is so small.

I finally got to play Dominion yesterday and played MF first game. Got kind of rocked, which may have been down to it being my first game, but by the way I was suddenly destroying everyone in my next few games as Riven, Irelia and Kayle, it might just be that there's better champs available.

Yeah that's the way I build Heimer. Thing is he's not any worse on dominion than a normal map if he's with his turrets-- well, I guess he sorta is because of the nature of the game being more centric on a few key points but if he's camping one of the locations just ignore that one and go somewhere else.

The thing about heimer too is his move speed is painfully slow. I think that hurts him pretty significantly in dominion. Not enough that he's not still a really powerful pick but I think if they make his turrets no longer knock champs out of point capturing he won't be overpowered on the map. As it stands if you put a turret right by a turret a single champion cannot take that point without taking massive damage unless they have a way to hit the turret from outside turret range. Granted they're still going to take good damage even if that changes but at least it'll be from heimer's turret and not the big one.
