Inspired by a similar topic I saw on this board, I went ahead and went through all the fictional media I could think of to come up with my fifty favorite fictional characters of all time. They cover a reasonably wide range of mediums, but the breakdown is as follows:

15 Video Game Characters
14 TV Show Characters
8 Webcomic Characters
7. Movie Characters
3 Anime Characters
2 Book Characters
1 Play Character

I'll do my best to keep this ranking updated in a reasonable fashion, but for now, a hint to character number 50: A character from LOST.

50. Daniel Faraday (LOST)

Now, I'll admit that some of the newer characters LOST introduced at the start of new seasons were failures. Charlotte and Ilana, for example. Hell, even Frank, who is the goddamn man, never really was developed beyond being a card-carrying member of the badass society. But then you have someone like Daniel. We first meet him in season 4, on the heels of the "Not Penny's Boat" thing with Charlie and Desmond, which automatically makes him suspect. We first meet him and he's trying to be helpful, but even his actions are shady, like he doesn't truly know what's going on when he SHOULD. Anyway, he's sketchy as hell and works with Charlotte to try and stop bad things from happening, but you can't really tell if he's truly working for good because Charlotte's such a b**** and he's so weird.

ANYWAY, Daniel, during this time, is established as an awkward and nerdy character, and as the series went on and he became more trustworthy, he actually became a likable character. His interactions with Charlotte and subsequent love for her (with seemingly little reciprocation) were actually adorkably sweet, especially after how sad he got watching her die in his arms before he could save her. And meeting her again as a child was just as sad, in a way, because he was setting events into motion that would eventually lead to both of their deaths. And Daniel's death was particularly sad for me because he'd been holding the season together in a way, up until that point. Season 5's time travel antics were bizarre, and somehow Daniel being the king of time travel and physics and all that made him a welcome character in the season. To see him die at the hands of his own mother, who sent him to the island knowing that she would inevitably kill him...it was hard to watch for me. Daniel was just trying his best to help out, and he was such an adorkable sweetheart. His death was really tough, and I AM glad that the alternate universe was more kind to him than the island was.

Hint for 49: Play character.

Yesss, Faraday. I didn't expect him to show up. Definitely in 100, but 50... it's awesome that he makes the cut!

It's hard to imagine Lost without Faraday, even though he wasn't around for half, or even one-third, of the series.

49. Iago (Othello)

Yeah, when it comes to villains, Iago is one of my all-time favorites, just because he's such an unbelievable bastard with every little thing he does in the play. He starts out getting passed over for Cassio for a promotion by Othello, and he takes it on the chin while subtly planning the demise of every single person in the entire play, save for himself. He hates Othello for reasons that probably feature a little bit of racism, what with Othello being black and all. So he first tries to break up Othello and his new white wife, Desdemona, with help of a rich guy in love with her, Roderigo. This fails, so Iago steps up his game.

He ruins Roderigo, taking every last penny he has before killing him to keep him quiet. He tricks Othello into killing his wife by making him believe she was unfaithful (which then lead to Othello committing suicide). And he gets Cassio wounded during a fight with Roderigo, not to mention killing his own wife to shut her up. Iago does all of this because f*** those guys, and it's f***ing amazing. Especially since he doesn't technically get his comeuppance (during the play). So badass.

48. Juror #11 (12 Angry Men)

12 Angry Men is one of my favorite movies of all time. I just like jury and courtroom dramas in general, but 12 Angry Men basically had such a strong impact on the genre that a variety of detective shows have done an homage (with the one lone outsider working to convince the people who believe in guilt). But my favorite isn't one of the two antagonists, because honestly, they just seem like a******s for the sake of being a******s. And I don't care for jurors eight or nine because they're too heroic for their own good. Jurors one and six are frivolous, jurors two, seven and twelve are meant more for comic relief. Juror four is too robotic and juror five just doesn't cut it for me. No, my favorite character in the movie is juror number eleven. He's an immigrant and is just happy to be considered American enough to sit on a jury, but that actually makes him more badass. He doesn't like people not giving a s*** and not taking the deliberation seriously, because it dishonors America. And while juror eight is too old to be threatening, and juror nine is played by Henry Fonda, thus cannot be mean, juror eleven does his best to be forceful in arguing with the guilty voters. I dunno, I just appreciated what he brought to the movie and he was unique, unlike several of the other jurors.

47. Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect series)

Mass Effect 2 is a strong contender for my favorite RPG of all time. And prior to ME2 coming out and basically improving on ME1 in every way, the original Mass Effect was one of my favorite RPGs of all time (I mean, it still is, but compared to the sequel, you can see the difference). But even in ME1, I really liked Garrus. Now, that may have had something to do with half the playable cast being awful (boring, racist or annoying...and those were the love interests), but I always enjoyed Garrus for what he was, the one example of a positive Turian character in the first game (SO MANY Turian douchebags) who kinda wanted to become a badass and kick ass and take names, but since I generally play paragon Shepard, I usually steer him back onto the right track. Garrus in the first game kinda has a stick up his ass, but it makes him a believable character and I enjoyed that. He gets a whole lot better in ME2 though.

Early in ME2, you're informed that Garrus has gone off the grid and is unable to be found (because your entire team from the previous game disbanded, apparently). So then when you get sent on a mission to find a guy called Archangel, who's basically ruining the s*** of three different mercenary organizations, you have to fight your way to a total badass who is picking bad guys off left and right. You make it up to him and find out that Archangel is just the codename the bad guys had given to Garrus for being such an upstanding goody two-shoes. He gets pretty messed up by a helicopter gun, but is saved, albeit with some noticeable scars. From this point on, Garrus is kinda awesome. Again, I've only played through ME2 with male Shepard (although when I play through it female, damn right she's gonna bang the s*** outta Garrus), but Garrus' friendship with Shepard is actually pretty fun and well-written, with a decent amount of well-intentioned ribbing. I just like the way Garrus and Shepard's relationship is handled, and Garrus comes across as a realistic human character, despite being an alien. P.S. Is it wrong that I find Garrus somewhat attractive?

Hint for 46: A female sci-fi character.

I've moderated parts of the Bioware Social Network. I've read things I can never un-read. And I've learned that there are people who find Garrus Vakarian much, much more than 'somewhat attractive'.

So probably not.

46. Kaylee Frye (Firefly)

If there's one character type in almost any fictional media that can be a perfect hit or a perfect miss for me, it's the spunky young girl. Depending on how this character type is handled, I could think they're one of the best characters in their game (Rikku, FFX), or I could want to stab them repeatedly in the face (Rikku, FFX-2). With Kaylee, it's definitely the former. You have a cast of mostly older characters and there's not a lot of light-heartedness (don't get me wrong, Firefly is funny, but it's more humor than lighthearted humor). Aside from Kaylee, the only younger character in the group is River, and she's a lunatic/robot assassin girl or whatever. Now, Kaylee is not the only Firefly character to appear on this list, but she earns her placing on this list by being such a delightful and lovable character. I mean, going back to the flashback episode in which Mal meets everyone on the crew, Kaylee's intro is by far the funniest, what with her banging the previous engineer in the engine room because that's what she's into and managing to point out things he should've known on his own. And really, that's what makes Kaylee so great is that despite being the childlike innocent character in the cast, she's still old enough to the point where she can make sexual humor work without making the viewer feel uncomfortable. This makes any scene in which she discusses anything sexual absolutely hilarious (Twixt my nethers scene is top tier). And overall, in a series in which the main cast is kinda neutral (I mean, they are mostly thieving scoundrels), having someone like Kaylee to provide chaotic good moments was a pleasant surprise, and her positive personality helped me to enjoy the show.

<3 Kaywinnit Lee Frye.

The first time I heard about Firefly was probably flipping around iMDB in 2004 or early 2005, or maybe an advertisement for the show looking up something Buffy or Angel-based. I saw this big poster with the main nine characters on it. "Oh, hey it's Caleb! Oh, look Jasmine! Hey, that guy looks fam- Hamilton! Cool Whedo- HOLY CRAP IS THAT JEWEL STAITE?! Must watch this show!!!"

Flash Forward, Higher Ground, Space Cases, that Siren episode of So Weird. I wouldn't say she was necessarily a crush growing up, but she was definitely a memorable and fun part of my childhood viewing experience. I don't think I would've gotten into Firefly before the movie came out if it weren't for Jewel (and that would've been terrible). Kaylee's easily her best role of those I'd seen, but that's only because she's much more experienced, she's part of a stellar cast, she's got an excellent character, and Whedon's at the helm. There's no denouncing Becca, Daisy, and Catalina (who's talking to the wall) who were all great.

Faraday, Kaylee, Juror #11, Garrus (who I love as a character, but can't stand in battle; he always suicides early and often in my games), Iago... this list is turning out to be one of the greatest ever!

45. Ronald Rudentof (The Eye of Ramalach)

So yeah, there's gonna be several furry webcomic characters on this list, so to the people not willing to broaden their horizons and look past the furry aspects, I'll try my best to not annoy you too much with my personal preferences. First off, TEoR is a great webcomic by a friend of mine, and sadly it gets overlooked because it doesn't go the blatant fanservice route that so many furry webcomics go. It details the story of Ron (the main character) following in his father's footsteps and going on a quest to find a mystical artifact, essentially following his father's dream that said father died before completing. So right off the bat you have a good motivation behind Ron's actions, but what makes him a top fifty character is the fact that he's a complete and utter dork. He's essentially the male equivalent of the librarian girl from The Mummy. I mean, his friend Ben takes him out to a bar and while he gets hit on by a rich party girl, he's too busy reading a book to notice her, which makes her complain in such a lolworthy manner. Anyway, as the comic continues, Ron remains just as nerdy and just as much of a stick in the mud, but he grows as a character, becoming a bit braver and tougher, as well as hooking up with his female BFF after nearly doing so earlier in the comic. I just really like Ron's nerdy personality allowing him to have these unique interactions with his group of friends (who really are diverse in and of themselves: the outgoing weirdo, the ladies man, and the tough guy). Ron's pretty adorable, and raccoons are awesome, so yeah, top fifty.

A hint for 44: a non-human anime character.

44. Meowth (Pokemon anime)

Lost my write-up there for a bit, so annoyed by that atm. Anyway, I've always liked Meowth as a character, even if I haven't seen the anime in a while (I hear he was recently captured by Iris, which is pretty wtf-worthy, but interesting at the same time). I've just always been intrigued by him, right from the start. He becomes such an incompetent comic relief character later on, along with Jessie & James, yet for some reason, Giovanni had Meowth as his number one Pokemon until constant failures dropped him lower. How the heck did that happen? Was Meowth really THAT awesome (enough to be given leadership over J&J?) that he warranted such a position? How could he fall so far in the span of meeting one Pikachu?

Furthermore, there's the talking aspect. Being able to speak gives Meowth a character-development feature that most other Pokemon don't have. It gives him a unique personality that we rarely get to see from Pokemon that can only say their own name. Meowth's journey and backstory for how he came to be able to talk were unique and made sense to me, kinda...as much sense as a talking cat can make. Additionally, I just tend to feel bad for Meowth, because yes, he's a jerk sometimes, but as that season one episode said, he's a jerk because his trainer made him that way. But still, despite being a jerk, I feel like there's been so many instances in which Meowth has tried to do good, and he just gets screwed over sometimes. Like the Paras episode, where he does a bunch of hard work, gets no credit, and doesn't get the girl. Or not getting to be the daddy to Togepi. I feel bad for him in those situations, and overall, I feel like it's more J&J's incompetence that screws him over. I still like them, but Meowth is more of a victim in my eyes, and he's just so darn lovable.

43. Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean series)

There are more than likely going to be a few entries on this list that are like, universally loved characters that even if there's no real unique way of expressing your love for them. Captain Jack is one of those characters. Seriously, how can you NOT love Captain Jack (note how I will always refer to him as Captain Jack instead of just Jack) and his wacky, sexist hijinks? It's hilarious. He has so many instances of starting fights or using underhanded and unconventional methods in order to get his way, although he often times fails miserably (and again, hilariously). Really, it's hard to describe exactly why I enjoy him so much, but I just think Johnny Depp did a great job in building up the character as being eccentric and yet also dodgy at the same time. Plus, you have to enjoy the moments where he thinks his genius plan has worked brilliantly and either no one else understands it, or it has in fact failed without his knowing that it's failed. Overall, Captain Jack is just an amazing cinema character, definitely one of the best new movie characters of the past decade or so.

42. Vivian (Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door)

I generally tend to like negatively tinged characters for the most part, if not outright villains. This is because I feel like with a hero, there's often an instance in which they're considered a hero solely because the story calls for it and don't really get much development as to WHY we're supposed to like them. But with villains, we're supposed to hate them, and usually the hero looks good simply because the villain opposes him and the villain is an a******. Well, with Vivian, this is taken a step further because she starts out as a villain, but is made sympathetic given the horrible treatment she receives from her sisters, and eventually she snaps and betrays her sisters in order to join forces with Mario as my favorite party member (P.S., I find it hilarious that Mario's party members in PM2 are all female. He's hittin' dat with multiple species for sure). I just found Vivian's innocence and trying to make her sisters proud to be cute and sweet, and the fact that she actually turned against them in order to do what was good (admittedly doing so after Mario was nice to her) was also a positive. It just made for a good storyline.

41. Hugo "Hurley" Reyes (LOST)

For some reason, Hurley has haters, probably because he's a fan-favorite and fan-favorites are generally hated just because they're popular (some places). But I don't care. I loved what Hurley brought to the show as comic relief. Such a serious show NEEDED someone like Hurley to display that light-hearted attitude and almost childlike innocence. That's what made ANY scene in which someone Hurley cared about died THAT much more touching and emotional. Add to that the storyline of Hurley being bad luck, and you just had to feel sorry for him. Charlie is Hurley's friend and he dies. Libby is Hurley's girlfriend and she dies while getting supplies for the two of them to go on a picnic. It's just good storytelling to take this good person who the fans love and who never does anything bad to anyone else (Hurley) and constantly inflict emotional pain to him, because it makes the audience sting THAT much more when things go wrong. Add to that the fact that in the later seasons, Hurley can see dead people, and I was actually right that he would wind up being the protector of the island. He just seemed like the best fit as someone who never really had a reason to want to leave the island in the first place. But yeah, his ability to go from happy-go-lucky to unbelievably sad is amazing and it really sells him as a character.

40. Tiffany "Susan" Pompoms (El Goonish Shive)

First off, awesome cheerleader name, right? WRONG! Susan's a hardcore feminist, and as a result, her initial appearance in El Goonish Shive was basically to be as someone antagonistic to Tedd, who is a hardcore pervert. But as time went on, she became more than just a minor character whose sole purpose was to serve as a female plot-point. She went from initially being somewhat of an outcast who only really had Sarah as a friend to becoming a trusted member of the team (note: not an actual team, although that was be badass). Watching Susan develop as a character has been interesting to say the least. She's still the same feminist, yet she also has a backstory as to WHY she is the way she is (she had the traumatic experience of finding her father cheating on her mother with a blonde, hence why she dyes her hair black and goes by "Susan" instead of Tiffany.) This led to her becoming a man-hater, partly at the behest of her man-hating mother, but over time, she has grown to learn that all guys aren't bad, and has friends in Justin, Elliot, and even Tedd. Her biggest character developments came, however, when she was turned into a guy (long story involving a genderswapping birthday party...okay, not so long after all), and she realized that being a guy doesn't automatically make you a sex-crazed fiend, and that it was her dad as a person that made him behave the way he did. Also, she made out with girl-Justin, which I thought was cute since Susan so desperately wishes she was a lesbian. Anyway, Susan's life has been tough, but she continues to grow as a character while serving as the Vulcan voice of logic for the group. Susan is made of win and love, end of story.

39. HK-47 (Old Republic series)

It's funny how an optional character from an XBox RPG can become as popular as HK-47 did. Well, not so much funny as it is totally awesome. KotOR had droids because you can't have Star Wars without some sort of wacky buddy droid pairing, so you had T3-M4, who is adorable and very R2-D2-esque...and then HK-47. Now, thankfully they didn't go the route that the actual movies went, with goddamn C-3PO, who is f***ing obnoxious (also funny enough, it would be awesome to see Vader saying "C-3PO...I am your father." and have it be totally true). They instead had a droid that could translate languages for your team, but he was an utterly violent bastard that wanted little more than to kill every living thing around him, including your character. His speech mannerisms were awesome too, because he couldn't really display emotion with his voice, he instead prefaced everything he said with the method of how he was saying it. Query, Statement, Annoyed Statement, Stick Up Middle Finger (That one MAY be Bender). He made for great comic relief, and even though he, like pretty much everyone else, was butchered in KotOR2, we're only discussing the good game of the series, so yeah.

38. Beatrix "The Bride" Kiddo (Kill Bill series)

This one is pretty much entirely because of how badass Beatrix is over the course of two movies. I mean, she takes the jilted mother aspect of Ellen Ripley from Aliens and she's not just going out of her way to protect some little girl who can't act her way out of a paper bag, oh no. She goes f***ing psycho and kills everyone who wrongs her in the events leading up to the massacre of her wedding party. Except that one Hispanic guy that works with Budd to help bury her in some graveyard. I think it would've been funny if, after everything bad went down with Bill, there was one last scene where she just knocks on his door and he opens it and is like "Oh s***!" and she kills him. Closure. But yeah, Beatrix's fighting for honor and justice was just so cool, and I honestly think that no other character could have been nearly as effective as she was in the Kill Bill series. Seriously, switch almost any other character for her (the one-eyed blonde, the Japanese girl, the black girl), and all of them just naturally APPEAR tough, yet because she's an unassuming (I use that word loosely) blonde, Beatrix's ass-kicking abilities come outta nowhere, and that makes every fight scene THAT much more intense, and it's even more amazing to watch her progress throughout the two films, going from struggling with O-Ren to soundly trouncing Bill in the final few scenes. So cool.

*casual Lost spoilers - Hurley-centric*

I can't believe Hurley has haters. He may be the good ole funtime guy, but he's got tons of depth, brings huge amount of humor, dramatic chops, and strength to an already booming cast, and has great on-screen chemistry with everyone. He's got great material in every season, and though his episodes may not be the most plot-forwarding or momentum building (or even that good... Everybody Hates Hugo, Dave, but hey, Season 2 & he did have one of the best flash forwards in The Lie), they were all strong character pieces. Not many have as consistent and well-crafted a flashback experience as Hurley does, from the lottery numbers to reconciling with his dad. He's just wonderful.

Susan's great. I haven't kept up with EGS in a while, but Susan was a lot of fun in not being a lot of fun. Like HK-47 & The Bride too.

37. Wheatley (Portal 2)

Okay, first off, I've gotta admit that a large portion of the reason why I love Wheatley so much is because when he's first introduced, you meet him, and it turns out he's voiced by Steven Merchant. If you don't know who that is, then you clearly haven't watched The Ricky Gervais Show, which is f***ing hilarious. Karl Pilkington <3. But anyway, hearing that voice was what made me like Wheatley at first, but watching how ValvE was able to give such a wide array of emotions to what amounts of a circular orb is amazing to me. The way he pivots and tilts and blinks, that took a lot of effort on their part, and it really shows, because while the voice is a big part of Wheatley's character, carrying him around and watching his expressions and fear and excitement are just plain amusing. And it gets better. After you kill GlaDOS a second time and Wheatley takes control of the facility, he loses his mind almost immediately and tries to kill you, who has been his friend, all because he wants to get the pleasure of completing testing. He just manages to take the raving robot lunatic idea patented by GlaDOS and make it funny in his own way, and I love the designers for creating a moronic psychopath like Wheatley to make Portal 2 THAT much more amazing.

Damn it Inviso, you made me drain away a day and a half of my life reading through the entirety of El Goonish Shive. And Ellen is so the best character.

36. Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds)

I love how adorkable Garcia is, I really do. Nerds in games or on TV or in fictional media are just naturally going to appeal to me because they're so nerdy and adorable. Basically, Criminal Minds deals with such a f***ed up subject matter (serial killers that more often than not are sadists, and thus do not care for the treatment of their victims in any way, shape or form), and as a result, you have a main cast consisting of a hardass, an older hardass, a black hardass, a female hardass, a blonde hardass, and Reid, who's nerdy, but hardly gets any focus because all he's really good for is math stuff that leads to him showing up once an episode to do something involving math or geography, and that's it. So with all these hardasses, there's no one really relate-able. Enter Garcia. She's the team's tech nerd who can access any system or file the team needs without even the slightest difficulty, and unlike the others, she has a playful and bubbly personality that can really carry pretty much any scene she's in. Long story short, she's awesome. Her backstory is awesome, what with being given the option of working for the FBI or going to jail (what with being a hacker and all), and what's best about her is the fact that because she's so bubbly, like Hurley, when something goes wrong, seeing it affect her is far more emotional than seeing it affect the rest of the team. Her dealing with loss can really make the scenes not dealing with serial killers just as heartwrenching as the rest of the show. Plus, for a bigger girl, she's pretty damn cute.

I won't reveal my feelings on the matter yet, Crimson, as there's still one more EGS character on the list.

35. Zidane Tribal (Final Fantasy IX)

FF9 is one of the top three best games in the Final Fantasy series, in my opinion, alongside FF12 and FF5. And a large portion of why it's awesome is Freya Crescent for being a hardcore furry symbol of awesome. But this write-up isn't about Freya, she didn't crack the top fifty. I just thought she deserved a mention. This write-up is about the true star of the game: Zidane Tribal. It's very rare where the main character of the game is the most awesome. I mean, just looking at the FF series, Terra's outclassed by Celes and Edgar, Cloud is outclassed by Vincent, Cid, Tifa and Yuffie, Squall's game sucks, Tidus is outclassed by the entire playable cast, Vaan is outclassed by the entire playable cast, and Lightning is admittedly badass, but I've never beaten FF13. Zidane, meanwhile, has a relatively weak playable cast (Eiko, Steiner, Amarant are bad, Garnet and Vivi are kinda meh, and Quina, while awesome, is a joke), and the story of FF9, while focused around him and Garnet, really does tell ZIDANE'S story more than anything else.

Zidane shows up to kidnap Garnet for ransom or some reason, and winds up lucking out when she WANTS to leave with him, resulting in him getting to lust after a hot princess for most of the game (even going so far as to cop a feel "Ooh, soft"). And throughout the course of the game, Zidane goes from your typical pervert just lusting after Garnet, to truly developing feelings for her as he learns about who she is as a person. Honestly, Zidane x Garnet is without a doubt the best couple in the series, and it's such a shame that they forced the romance plot into a horribly cliched package in FFX. And then, it's not over for Zidane. He gets all depressed after losing Garnet, but then learns that he's an alien and his brother is the main villain of the entire game (f*** Necron). So naturally he goes through the phase of hatred and then feels sadness and compassion for his brother, who goes kinda crazy upon learning that he's going to die. And all of this culminates in Zidane sacrificing himself, only to return unexpectedly in order to be with the love of his life once more.

Really, Zidane is without a doubt the best FF lead because he's both light-hearted and playful (unlike the super-serious Cloud/Squall/Lightning/Terra) but has moments of seriousness and emotion that make him look like he's not a complete moron (Tidus/Vaan). Zidane really made FF9 the amazing game that it is.

34. Han Solo (Star Wars series)

Sorry Star Wars fans, but Han is the only non-video game entry on the list, and even then he's stretching it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Han Solo. He's a hilarious rogue and is like an intergalactic version of Captain Jack Sparrow, and Captain Jack made this list too. But the problem with both of them is that they're amazing and memorable, but when it comes down to it, the character development just isn't there to put them above some of the higher-placing characters on the list. Now, again, Han is amazing. The fact that he doesn't give a s*** about anyone for most of the series (although he does stand up for what is right, and helps out the rebellion every so often) makes him the kind of character you love to love. He delivers some great one-liners, and his interactions with the rest of the cast (the slow falling in love with Leia, the slow camaraderie with Luke, and the pre-existing relationship with Chewy) really help to add a hint of excitement to the series beyond the intergalactic melodrama of having Luke and Leia (on their own very serious character) fighting against the evil Empire. Without Han, I doubt Star Wars would have been anywhere NEAR as popular as it is today. And the best part? Han is like, the ONE character in the series that DIDN'T get forced into the prequels and subsequently ruined. So kudos for that.

33. Dahlia Hawthorne (Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations)

Looking at this girl, you would think she's far too innocent and naive to be a villain, yet that's usually who the villains ARE in the Phoenix Wright universe: the ones who seem so nice and helpful and desperate to get someone else convicted for their crimes. Well, Dahlia's the cream of the crop when it comes to Phoenix Wright villains (a tier which only really Manfred von Karma, Matt Engarde and Kristoph Gavin come close to). She only appears in the one game of the series, but she essentially goes out of her way to dog your character (whether you're Phoenix or Mia) throughout the course of three cases by murdering a f***ton of people. And keep in mind that she's like, 19 years old and looks innocent as hell, because it makes her all the more amazing and awesome. Anyway, I'll start to describe her story chronologically, rather than going by cases, because T&T is like the Pulp Fiction of Phoenix Wright...trying to follow its timeline is just dumb.

Dahlia starts out by getting "kidnapped" as a teenager by some creepy guy who's apparently a pedophile...or she's just that good at manipulating people. I'll say it's a little of both. The kidnapping is fake of course, as her sister is in on the deal, as is the "kidnapper". They're just trying to get Dahlia's rich parents to cough up some money so they can all live happily ever after...at least that's what Violet and Terry want. Dahlia just wants to go Iago on some asses. She kills her sister and then jumps off a bridge, leading the police to believe that Terry killed them both (although they never find Dahlia's body). Terry's taking the fall for this, and Dahlia has the ladyballs to go into court and testify against him as a witness...with NO ONE realizing that she's the supposedly dead missing girl. Seriously, the court system in the PW universe is stupid. Mia Fey, on her first case, winds up almost taking Dahlia down, but Terry, stupid with love, commits suicide and Dahlia gets away scot free. Also, it's around this time that Dahlia uses that same poison to put Mia's boyfriend in a coma and permanently blind him, 'cause why the f*** not?

Flash forward to case one where Phoenix is on trial for the murder of Dahlia's ex-boyfriend. Dahlia again shows up to testify, again not bothering to disguise herself from the very defense attorney that almost got her once before. Seriously, ladyballs for realz. Apparently, she's dating Phoenix and her ex was trying to warn him that she's a b****, so she electrocuted him and framed Phoenix for the murder. And since Phoenix was a feeble SARS victim at the time, she almost got away with it. But Mia caught her in a lie and got her arrested and put to death for the murder of her ex-boyfriend. So if she's dead, surely her story must be over, yes? F*** no. For Dahlia, death is merely a setback. She gets channeled into the body of her distant cousin and then goes about trying to make herself seem guilty in order to have Maya Fey, (Mia's sister) put to death for HER actions. It's only when Mia shows up again (also dead and being channeled via a spirit medium) to own her that Dahlia goes apes***, realizes her plan failed, and is forever defeated. But that just shows how awesome of a villain she is. She killed so many people or at least tried to claim credit for killing so many people, and she even came back from the dead just to f*** with her arch-nemesis' sister. No one pushed the villain envelope quite like Dahlia, and for that, we thank her.
