If it would literally never go out of date and no other console/PC/gaming capable device got exclusives that it didn't get, I'd say $2,000+ with my current budget. Maybe more once I'm through school entirely and make more money.
i mean just to be clear on this: a decently powerful computer today can play everything extremely well except both Xbox, Dreamcast (i assume original Xbox and Dreamcast for the same reason - not enough people care), PSP, PS3, and 3DS.
perfect system would include those that it can't do perfectly AND the next couple generations. or being more realistic in ideals, everything from that gen. which... is pretty much a PC. especially if you can run windows on it, as then you're pretty much done. a computer with those specs would be worth the grand easy. and as it's the perfect system, it shouldn't be dying on you for as long as the parts can go, so.... a really long time. to the point where you'll hardmod and upgrade it first.

uh...well I payed 600 for a ps3, so I guess I can't really say lower than that....but my financial situation and interest is entirely different now and I probably wouldn't pay much at all, if anything.

I'm "kind of a big deal". http://img.imgcake.com/cyclo/Cyclopngegpngre.png
Uh well, I paid about 1200 bucks or so for my current computer, and it's about as powerful as I could want relative to today's technology. So... I'm going with that?
