I've heard the PSP version is the definitive, like with extra characters not in either Wii or PS2 version.

From Disgaea wiki: "The PSP version will contain everything the Wii version has (such as Another Marona mode) and a few addition features, such as new characters."

yeah, it went PS2 -> Wii -> PSP.
as many ports as Disgaea 1 had (PS2 -> PSP -> DS). at least until they make Disgaea HD anyway for a quick cash in. then they could do the same for the other PS2 games individually before making a collection.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for them to port Disgaea 2 to the DS. Although they'll probably just skip that and go straight to Disgaea 3DS.

...Except Disgaea 3 was a PS3 game. Then again, if the DS was powerful enough that they could port a PS2 game to it, theoretically you'd think the 3DS could handle a port of a PS3 game. Yet most of the announced 3DS ports of console games were either originally on the PS2 or the...N64...

The N64. Not the Gamecube. Have they announced any ports of Gamecube games for the 3DS yet? Given the way the Wii was always shut out of multi-console releases that appeared on both PS3 and XBox 360, and would often get games that were also being released on the PS2 at the same time, I have trouble believing that the 3DS can handle a PS2 game but not a Gamecube game.

the 3DS has better specs than a Gamecube anyway so that's not really a concern. hell, it has some shaders on it that let it do things the Wii can't. so no, there isn't a problem with those ports, they... just haven't cared enough to do 'em. considering how low the power usage required for Disgaea 3 is, i can totally see 'em do that one on the 3DS too. but really it'd transition from PS3 -> Vita -> 3DS.
