I'm also really bad at it, but... No continues? I guess you're supposed to use warp pipes to avoid replaying levels, but still. And Second Quest has got to be nuts, especially if you get sent back to First Quest if you get game over.

I've played SMB before, but only a little, and I'd never looked up codes for it. I assumed it had continues, and I guess it does, but I didn't know you had to do a special thing to use them.

It's not a TRUE continue. You start at the first level of whatever world you died on.

Like, if you Game Over'd on 5-3, continuing would put you on 5-1, dying on 7-4 would put you back at 7-1, etc.

I still beat the game without warp points just fine.

a lot of NES games without continues still had ways of continuing. SMB is just one of many!

The first console I owned was an N64, and the first I played extensively was a SNES, with a GB before that! Cut me some slack. If I had had my way, I would've owned a SNES at least.

I've never heard of continuing in SMB either, and I'm certainly old enough not to be able to play the "before my time" card. (And I had a subscription to Nintendo Power, but not from issue 1.)

I didn't know about this either.
