Don't let anyone hate. Corona is the perfect laid back after a long day beer. It's the best beach beer. It's just solid all around. You can sip it or pound it.

Bud Light is water with some hops in it. How could you prefer it over anything without "Best" or "Ice" in the name baffles me.

bud light's at least like... vaguely tolerable. Better than Miller Light and uh... Big Flats at least.

Big Flats is so badddddddddddddddddd

Rickard's Red, Alexander Keith's IPA and a local brew in BC called Granville Island (pretty much everything but their Cream Ale)

AK's IPA isn't that good, as IPAs go. . Not a bad brewery otherwise, though. I've heard of Granville Island, though I've never had the occasion to drink it. I do know that it's not really a "local brew" - it was Canada's first microbrewery - and that Molson Coors owns it as of... recently.

Rickard's sounds familiar. I want to say that's the name Blue Moon goes by in Canada, but I could be mistaken.

Well I said local because I haven't seen it anywhere other than the coast. I mean it doesn't even make it as far as Alberta, so I figured it was just a Vancouver thing. Never seen Blue Moon up here, but Rickard's White is alright... I don't like it nearly as much as the Red though.

But I must say that I'm surprised you've tried/heard of all of those. Do you travel a lot or is it just easier to find import beers in your area?

It does, but you can get a 30 pack for like 10 bucks and the commercials are hilarious. I've had worse beers.

I finally tapped the keg in my kegerator, trying to figure out what to get next, keeping in mind that I do not drink and it's just for visitors. Last two were Long Trail Ale and Switchback Ale for my Vermont friends, but they aren't around much any more so I'm probably going to go a different direction.

I did a research study for AK last winter, and I generally know a good deal about beer because I am a bit of a connoisseur. Boston is a strong beer city.

I can't speak for Long Trail personally or their IPA specifically, but I haven't really heard any terrible reviews before.

At least with respect to other IPAs.

If you want an IPA I'd suggest Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA if you can get a keg of it.

Ugh, not a fan of the AK IPA at all -- one of my bottom tier beers. Their red is decent though. Rickard`s Red is definitely the go to tap beer for restaurants around here that don`t have local stuff. (Okanagan-Shuswap, interior BC)

Granville is owned by Molson? Never knew that. I'm particularly fond of their winter ale and their raspberry ale they have out right now. Rest of their stuff is decent, but I'd go for other things over them. Rickard's is owned by Molson as well, IIRC. Might be why it's familar.

I'd probably not get a keg of IPA at this time. Would have been great in college, but not enough of my friends down here drink them. I need something with a broader appeal.

The worst thing to happen to beer are these pretentious Hipster D bags who brew their own stuff and think it makes them the be all end all of beer opinion. Don't listen to these people. They suck. Corona is a very solid relaxing beer. It's not too heavy but there's enough to it to enjoy.

otherwise stella has pretty much been my go to beer for a while now and haven't found a suitable replacement for it yet. might find some better in a bar (haven't had 'em yet!), but a store's a biiit harder. though the supermarket does pack a nice wall of beer basically.

The problem with something like Corona is that once you have something along the same lines and then go back, it's like you're just drinking some cheap watery beer that gets by on advertising. I don't think Corona is bad but it's just a weak ass beer. I love drinking those beers sometimes.
