I am 17-3 with Brand in ranked and I am not a super fantastic player. My KDA is 5.5 after 20 games with him in ranked.

If you are a solo top garen and you lose to a melee solo top you are doing it wrong.

Solo top garen is OP.

Annie is simply easier to play. If I see someone on my team pick an AP carry, I'd rather see them pick annie than anybody else. If I see an opponent, I'd rather seem them pick things that arent annie(As long as its not Kassadin).

JC. Red and FD have just been plagued with having the worst Brands ever on their team so that's probably why he's saying that lol.

Annie's problem, in my opinion, is the same as Mordekaiser's. Both have a nearly nonexistent learning curve, but both are insanely effective regardless of that. Not to say that neither of them have any weaknesses, but their strengths are often too much to ignore.

I've been running solo top Garen very effectively recently. He wins almost every 1v1 matchup and does decent in 2v1s.

The problem is that he doesn't scale nearly as great into the late game as some other champs, so you have to win early, or waste 40 minutes of your time after getting fed 10 kills (yeah I'm still pissed about that game... you guys know who you are)

Smart enemies would not fall for this. Bad Annies will just eat minion aggro trying to chase the enemy.

If they failed the steps above, they won't burst down the enemy. Yeah contrary to popular belief, it's unlikely Annie would single burst down her mid opponent from full health.

Brand and Anivia actually require intelligence to play. There's a certain order and finesse required to master them.

Annie is the easiest hero to play. She is arguably better than Brand or Anivia anyways. She is so easy that even Riot's cockroach intelligence AIs can play her. She has the finesse and power of a dirty bomb. You barge in, drop her on the enemy team, and win. No skill required.

I think what pushes Annie over the top are her Q and passive.

It's one thing to have good lane sustainability and mana refunds/regen, but a full refund on a nuke?

It's one thing to have a stun, but a stun attached to that nuke? And two AoE stuns?

I may be a noob but I don't see what's bad about a hero with an easy learning curve that you're pretty good with from the start. It keeps people playing because they can actually do something even when they're still bad, making them better and either they keep playing with Annie and get better with her or they move on to other champions they find more suiting for them. It's not like Annie is unbeatable, she's just an easy step in champion.

That's what I think anyway, but who cares what I think I'm still like lvl 8 or something and Annie's one of my favourite champions. >_>

The problem lies in that character falling into the hands of someone who ISN'T NEW. I've developed a fondness for AP Carrys and Annie is by far the easiest one. Anivia stun requires skill. Brand stun requires skill. Annie just casts a free spell every 3 seconds then unloads. Once she hits 6 she just sits on your minions side and dares you to last hit. Flash Q comes out before you can Flash and you're dead. I don't enjoy using her because frankly she's so easy that she's boring. In other news, me and Sytha are leveling up Villainous Mr Bucket with our smurfs. Currently level ten if anyone wants to join us.

Don't know why I don't see more Kassadins. That guy's early game kinda blows but once he hits 6 he just dominates spell spammers like Annie because they feed his E. With perfect timing I can get my stun off but he'll silence me at the same time so the combo dies there.

Kassadin can't poke nearly as well as other AP carries can. He needs to be in your face, and most AP carries tend to be rather squishy (unless fed).

Is Wriggles on Talon a good idea?

It's been working out pretty well for me.

My build, btw

Start cloth armor, five health pots (Work with me here)

First back, aim for boots and Wriggles. If you can't, just prioritize boots and buy materials for Razor or Wriggles.

Next trip back, null-magic mantle and Brutalizer. If rich enough, make your Merc Treads.

Make Youmuu's and BT as soon as possible.

After that, I just buy whatever defensive items make sense. If I'm extremely rich, I might go for Triforce, but that's never happened yet.

My friend got me into LoL a couple of weeks ago. I was pretty big into DotA, but was really turned off on the spinoff games by how crappy HoN was.

I'm a big fan of Maokai right now, he reminds me kinda of Tree in DotA.

Anyways, any tips for somewhat noobs looking for good heroes to play?

Wrigs good, Youmuu bad, Brut pro, get triforce. That's the size of it.

Yes and he needs them, The Ki Strike change wrecked his **** and his ult is super bad at level 1. When your ult more than DOUBLES in value with a rank up on top of shaving 30 seconds off the CD you know something's off.

Well...

Leona (barring my recent purchase of OPianna who I adore with all my stuff) is the only champion I paid full price for, so I have a ton of faith in her abilities. I still acknowledge that her spot in the metagame is to be Amumu when Amumu is banned because Amumu is stupid good. She doesn't suck, she's just not OP.

It's not so much that she's bad it's just that she doesn't fit in the metagame too well.

Solo top? Lots of better options who use the farm better.

Support tank bot? Alistar's your man with a crazy heal and lots of CC.

Leona/Ranged AD bot is a lot stronger now because of the support nerfs, though.
