For those of you not familiar with Dominion yet reading anyway for whatever reason, it's an awesome card game that's pretty hard to describe, but you build your deck over the course of the game from a random sampling of cards. (as well as some basic constants) Since the cards at your disposal change every game, no two games are the same and there are often at least a couple of viable major strategies with which to approach things.
If you want to learn about the cards and rules, you can find so at: http://www.riograndegames.com/games.html?id=278, which has a link at the bottom explaining basic rules and the basic cards, as well as links to the expansions and their cards' effects.
The number of spots will be determined by the amount of interest, how many people per game you want to play (isotropic supports up to 4-person games). Heck, this might not even turn out to be much of a league so much as how the HAXBALL topics work and just get all the B8 Dominion guys set up to play random games. But rest assured, nobody will be turned away due to player limit or being bad at Dominion. Believe me, you learn how to play Dominion by getting wrecked at it by people far better than you.
Lastly, if this league does kick off, I would appreciate having a co-host, so whoever else has more time on their hands than they need, speak up!
Also, is this site new? I was looking for a place to play Dominion online a few months back and couldn't find anything other than a text-only 1v1-only thing.

The game is over! (Fairgrounds, Estates, and Hamlets are all gone.) Paratroopa has 81 points (6 Fairgrounds [23 different cards], 3 Provinces, 3 Duchies, 7 Estates, and a Curse) and took 29 turns. Mon has 43 points (3 Provinces, 2 Fairgrounds [21 different cards], 7 Estates, 2 Duchies, and 4 Curses) and took 29 turns.
Haha, I just made someone ragequit because I tortured them every turn, but the funny thing is that I had a 4-3 split to begin and he had a 5-2 split, but passed up on the Torturer turn 1 for... an Outpost, arguably one of the worst 5-cost cards. I have no sympathy for players who self-inflict misery on themselves.
The game is over! (All Colonies are gone.) Paratroopa has 135 points (5 Colonies, 31 v, 4 Provinces, 4 Gardens [56 cards], 7 Estates, and a Duchy) and took 38 turns. albatross has 94 points (3 Colonies, 4 Gardens [78 cards], 20 v, a Province, 4 Estates, a Duchy, an Island, and a Great Hall) and took 37 turns.
A lesson in why you don't go crazy with Ambassadors in a Gardens game:
The game is over! (Gardens, Ambassadors, and Cities are all gone.) Paratroopa has 74 points (5 Gardens [74 cards], 2 Colonies, 2 Provinces, and 7 Estates) and took 34 turns. Mirkat has 63 points (5 Colonies, 3 Gardens [41 cards], and an Estate) and took 35 turns.
The funny thing is that I didn't even put work into it. He bought like 7 or 8 Ambassadors total, bought 6 or 7 Cities, and just proceeded to load up my deck with as many coppers as possible. He junked up my deck so badly that it made Gardens incredibly valuable. I was still able to buy enough Labs, Cities, and Hunting Parties to keep my deck flow decent, and I bought out most of the Gardens. I still thought I had lost by far, but I won because I got over that 70 threshold.
won my first game, although he could've ended it and won at several points >_>

The best deck I ever ran was King's Court + Grand Market + Goons + Watchtower.
Extra actions from KC+GM followed by 2 Goons, Watchtower to draw cards, more KC+GM. Buy Colonies and spend the remaining buys on Copper, trashing the Copper with Watchtower. I was amassing 26 points in VP tokens and however many Colonies I was able to buy each turn. I emptied the Copper pile in about 4 turns.
Honestly, I usually resign from games that end up like that - it's really boring to watch other people run through their entire deck every turn, especially since almost everyone is strangely slow about it. I actually don't like Dominion games that are about getting a really efficient engine going and just running that and buying tons of stuff every turn - messier Dominion games with lots of attacks are more fun in my opinion.

i had all 10 curses at the end >_>
I love games where my opponent spends the entire game going for this grand chain and then I just end it early on piles and win with like one or two provinces.

http://www.last.fm/user/TehMop Congrats to BlackTurtle!
Okay I f***ing love this setup. Check this out, helpfully divided by costs:
11 - Colony
9 - Platinum
8 - Province
7 - King's Court
6 - Hoard 6 - Gold
5 - Minion 5 - Duchy
4 - Ironworks 4 - Worker's Village 4 - Potion
3 - Swindler 3 - Watchtower 3 - Silver
2 - Pearl Diver 2 - Secret Chamber 2 - Estate
P - Vineyard
0 - Copper 0 - Curse
First turn, my opponent buys a Swindler.
L O F***ING L
I destroyed him after buying a Watchtower and using his Swindlers to rid myself of all my Estates, most of my Coppers, and even one of the Curses he gave me, and even when he Swindled my Gold into Gold (why he didn't give me Hoards instead is beyond me) I was just able to put it back on the top of the deck like nothing happened (instead of it getting discarded). And the only useful switcheroo he could even make with the Swindler was Minion to Duchy, which he pulled off only one and I trashed the Duchy anyway.
Worst time to play Swindler EVER. Watchtower owns.
He also used Ironworks to buy out all the Worker's Villages which was a completely inane play, Worker's Village serves very little purpose here and 10 of them in your deck serves none at all. I didn't buy any either of the 4 costs so he wasn't able to swindle any Potions onto me.
