@Darthozzan Im not sure it will unite CS, more likely create a new scene.....

There is NEVER going to be a CS game that's gonna unite the fanbase. People have been playing CS1.6 for over ten years, you make any kind of change whatsoever, they're gonna notice, and they're gonna hate it. Might as well go for a new audience, which this "rumored console focus" is suppose to be doing.

Valve tackling CoD/Battlefield? This could get interesting!

every time Counter Strike comes up I always remember back in high school when a ton of guys used to go on the library computers at lunch time and play it.

they also did the same with Starcraft

like half the computers at lunch time were always used for CS, SC, and for a few days Tron

Same thing that's going on with DotA2, it's most likely going to be fantastic, but there's not much to talk about when we haven't seen anything at all yet. Similarly, both original DotA and CS have been discussed into the ground over the years.

Besides, I thought it was generally accepted that Battlefield was the one that was gonna dethrone CoD.

I don't think it's going to be XBLA or PSN. It sounds like it's going to be a full game.

And Battlefield might stand a chance, but then again it has been around for awhile and hasn't managed such a feat yet.
