As the only one in the world who actually used the alarm clock function on a consistent basis, I was very displeased to find that such a function was not included in the newest iteration of the DS. What's the point in being an Ambassador if you don't even get an alarm clock?

Obviously not enough to keep it around! It's not exactly the most convenient way to make sure you get up on time, and most people probably already had a decent alarm clock before acquiring a 3DS. But hey, it got the job done for me! The alarm noise got to the point where it got so haunting that I just had to get up and shut it off!

KingButz posted... I used to use the alarm clock every day on my DS... back in 2006 or so. However, I now have a phone that does that just fine, so I'm not missing it.
Yep, and that's a large reason why I'm in the minority nowadays. I actually found the DS to work better for me in my setup, but I still use the phone alarm when I'm away without the lite

I used the DS alarm, it was so annoying it made sure I woke up.
This. In addition to just being reliable.

The problem with the DS alarm is that it isnt loud enough. Ill sleep right through it.
Never had that problem personally. Full volume was always good enough for me, although I can understand if it didn't work for you since there have been others who've slept nearby it and haven't woken up from it.
I haven't looked at the DSiWare at all, considering I skipped out on the DSi, but I would totally pick that up if there is one. Being themed after a series I like would be even better.

Oh my goodness, there totally is an Animal Crossing clock that includes an alarm function for $2 on eshop! I have a feeling it won't be quite as effective as the DS, but for mere pocket change it is worth looking into! Thank you, my good sir.

Well obviously I didn't buy the 3DS for the alarm clock, evidenced by the fact that I just became aware of the lack of alarm last night. Volume has seemed fine otherwise, though (at least for what I've used it for), so I didn't assume it would be an issue. Wearing headphones to sleep every night does not seem like the most practical solution.
I feel like a laptop would be inconvenient to have to worry about setting an alarm on every day as things stand now. Perhaps I can put my old broken hinge DS to use again for the sole purpose of alarm clocking. If neither DS nor 3DS will work, I'm not sure if I even own an actual alarm clock anymore. I'd have to look.
