R/B/Y was pretty damn awesome when it came out, the series is pretty boring now, but theres no denying the magic of the first one. Don't really care that much about MM in terms of liking it or disliking it.

Nier has some strong elements like the music and characters, but falters a lot in the gameplay department. CoD4 was pretty amazing and a huge shot in the arm for war games.

I can see that being the case with visual novels or bullet hell loli shooters (even though that lost),

Also to point out Visual novels don't have anywhere near the "cult" status status that you think they have, both Umineko and Fate/Stay night have spread out enough that you start getting people like Leonhart4 or KamikazePotato not thinking they're the greatest thing ever (as they should! ) They have a big enough base that they could lose simply because a lot of people have played them and they're.. really, really good but nothing to really fanboy over. You'd need something like Saya no Uta (although it has an unusual amount of antifans on this board) with its incredibly passionate group of fans or G senjou no Maou which has like, 0 board presence but nonetheless is well liked enough that all three of the people who have played it can vote it to victory.

Although if Ever17 wins I will laugh so hard.
