This is launch period. big hitters take time to develop these days. launch period is the time where people settle for good-not-great stuff just to test out the new hardware. Early Wii launch everyone was hyped for Wii Sports, Excite Truck, and Red Steel.

Except Wii gamers continued to be hyped for BBB(at best) for the majority of its life. See: The Conduit, HOTD: Overkill, Elebits, de Blob, A Boy and His Blob, Mushroom Men, and I can keep going.

smurf might not be the biggest nintendo fan, but when you're calling no more heroes "awesome", you're desperate to justify buying the console either way.

I think No More Heroes is awesome as well, but it certainly isn't GOTY quality.

You know what awesome game nobody on this board purchased? Boom Blox. There's a great use of the Wii-mote, and one that's actually really fun.

IIRC he didn't buy it and didn't even want it. The fact that he still enjoyed some games on it is actually pretty shocking.

That aside, you can't say the GR game isn't good unless you've played it. Have you? By the way you post, you make it seem like you don't own and have probably never touched a 3DS. That makes you a very bad judge of the system's quality or the quality of its library.

this board is a well known colony of nintendo addicts, of course they'll take any halfway decent game and put it on a pedestal to defend their precious. they did the same thing with games like no more heroes and red steel -_-

you're seriously using Red Steel as an example of games Nintendo fans clamour over?

Red Steel 1 get wrecked from day 1 - nobody liked that game. They were hyped from the trailers and everything because it looked good, but then the game got released and it was a mess, and nobody ever spoke highly of it ever.

I thought Boom Blox was fairly popular... It's definitely no lower than Top 5 for use of Wiimote, and Top 10 overall for Wii. Haven't played the sequel, is it just as good?
