Toward the end of the match, Bret stopped Christian from bringing a chair into the ring. Orton pummeled Christian for several minutes after the match was over, throwing chairs into the ring and hitting him with a Singapore cane. Orton and Hart walked around ringside shaking people's hands to close the show.

I finished plowing through Punk/Hardy. I was completely unaware that it started as a face/face feud where Punk slow burned to a heel because the crowds just despised him for cashing in on Jeff. A lot more well done than I had heard about.

There's also a bunch of foreshadowing to the most recent angle, intentional or (or more likely) not. A lot of 'there's a reason why you don't see me in movies' and such.

I don't think Jeff is too far off in his statement, but not for the reasons that he likely believes. The feud worked so well because it was rooted in so much realism. Like at the peak of it, Punk had parents and children alike cheering for a drug addict and booing his pleas for the youth of today to shun drugs and alcohol. That kind of feud only works because Punk is actually straight edge and because Jeff is a druggie.

Jeff 'made' Punk solely because he was ****ed up enough that Punk could play off of it masterfully.

In case you were curious, Punk's title reign that resulted from that feud ended in Hell in a Cell against Undertaker, in a match where Taker more or less squashed Punk (as much as any World Title match is ever a squash without looking too silly).

It was reportedly a squash because of Punk violating the dress code and then mouthing off about how Cena doesn't have to follow it. <_<
