One of the most broken battle systems in the FF series, LOL orphanage twist, Laguna's team and Quistis were the only characters I truly appreciated, etc.

One of the most broken battle systems in the FF series

FFVIII's battle system being broken was one of the best things about it.

It's fun to destroy things.

Bad story, bad antagonist, mostly unlikable cast (one of which is a sure contender for worst character in the series), some really annoying stretches in the game, and the Junction system has issues.

That said, it has one of the best minigames in the FF series and I kind of liked the music at times.

Some incredible music in here, and I really liked the areas in the game, but the combat system sucked big time and was far too much of a departure after the excellent FF7. Junctioning should have also never been in the game, it was so bad.
