its not just that, but the tournament itself had many ongoing storylines, you had Sampras trying to equal borg, Federer making a mark, Henman finally going for gold, Ivanisevic with his Wildcard, an 18 year old roddick coming in with great hype.

it helps that the two semi finals were my favs because of the competitors.

2001 Wimbledon was pretty awesome. I didn't watch it when it happened, so it was tough to really know how people were feeling about it at the time.

2008 was pretty great. 2009 was simultaneously the best and worst final of all time.

2004 was a good final in the sense that you went from Federer is a great player, to oh my god, he might actually become one of the best ever.

Roddick MADE Federer imo, he was talented enough back for Federer's wins to matter that much more.

Roddick vs Federer, could have been such a great rivalry, but i think after 2004 dude's mind was gone and it showed in 05, he could beat anyone except Federer and there was a lot of talented guys running around.
