Oh yeah and we should pit Half-Life 2 against GoldenEye.
Or maybe pit GoldenEye against Twilight Princess so that the former can soak up enough anti-votes to render Twilight Princess undefeated no longer. Not that I'd want such a result.
Just in case you didn't think we had ENOUGH Mario games in the top 25, here's two more!
Ha, just watch SMRPG beat SOTN next week and get enough points to make it back up in the charts again, too!
Surprisingly (in my eyes), Yoshi's Island is holding up so far. If it wins, I figure Majora's Mask is just weaker than we thought. (as much as I'd LIKE to think Yoshi's Island is a Top 15 game....)

"Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. So...what is a party?" "Well, you drink punch and eat CAKE! ...I think."
There's a difference between not liking it as much as other Zelda games and hating it enough to vote any game against it.
At this point in the contest, I think people are going to see TP being undefeated and go "no, that can't stay any longer, especially against an undisputed classic like GoldenEye".
Not that I'd vote against TP there. I have a strange feeling that TP will lose to Suikoden II next week though. Lots of weird stuff has been happening in the last two weeks.
Well, I suppose that's all too true. I just have a feeling that Twilight Princess (and maybe even Brawl as well) will suffer against a major Nintendo game from 2002 or earlier.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Games of the Decades Conference) (1-6) 12 (31.58%) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Twilight Barrel Galaxy Conference) (3-4) 26 (68.42%) --Once again, it's clear which franchise Board 8 would rather anti-vote!
Shining Force II (Games of the Decades Conference) (2-5) 9 (26.47%) Bioshock (Sonic Overload Conference) (6-1) 25 (73.53%) --Bioshock improves to 6-1 with a blowout win of Shining Force II.
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (Nintendo Objections Conference) (4-3) 25 (60.98%) Sonic Colors (Games of the Decades Conference) (2-5) 16 (39.02%) --R/S/E gets an easy win over Sonic Colors.
#17 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (Games of the Decades Conference) (5-2) 20 (47.62%) #21 Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Brawl for Broke Conference) (7-0) 22 (52.38%) --In case you forgot, say it with me: Mario always wins!
Street Fighter II (Tanooki Blitzball Conference) (4-3) 22 (55.00%) Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (Thousand-Year World of Sunshine Conference) (2-5) 18 (45.00%) --SFII struggled mightily against Lufia II, but a win's a win.
WWF No Mercy (Smackdown Hotel Conference) (1-6) 14 (35.15%) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Zelda Overload Conference) (5-2) 27 (65.85%) --Wind Waker lays the smack down on No Mercy.
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War (Smackdown Hotel Conference) (1-6) 21 (61.76%) Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (Smash Trigger Conference) (0-7) 13 (38.24%) --Enjoy this win, Ace Combat. It probably won't be this easy for you the rest of the year.
Mega Man 9 (Twilight Barrel Galaxy Conference) (1-6) 21 (52.50%) Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening (Thousand-Year World of Sunshine Conference) 19 (5-2) (47.50%) --And DMC3's good record is exposed for the sham it is due to the weak schedule by losing to the previously winless Mega Man 9, which on the other hand, had faced stiff competition up to this point.
Sonic CD (Sonic Overload Conference) (3-4) 5 (12.50%) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Zelda Overload Conference) (3-4) 35 (87.50%) --Ouch, two weeks in a row that Sonic CD gets absolutely pulverized by a Nintendo game.
Mega Man Legends (Metroid Eater Conference) (1-6) 10 (23.81%) #24 Final Fantasy VII (Fanservice Conference) (5-2) 32 (76.19%) --Tron Bonne reminded Cloud of Yuffie, and so he proceeded to thoroughly beat the crap out of her.
Killer7 (Metroid Eater Conference) (1-6) 14 (33.33%) Mario Kart 64 (Twilight Barrel Galaxy Conference) (5-2) 28 (66.67%) --Mario Kart 64 has no problems putting away its opponent this time.
Star Ocean: The Second Story (Smash Trigger Conference) (2-5) 22 (66.67%) Dynasty Warriors 4 (Metroid Eater Conference) (0-7) 11 (33.33%) --Oh look, another doubling!
Worms: Armageddon (Patriot Time Portals Conference) (2-5) 20 (54.05%) Twisted Metal 2 (Smash Trigger Conference) (2-5) 17 (45.95%) --Worms gets its second win in a low-scoring bout with Twisted Metal 2.
Mega Man X (Fanservice Conference) (4-3) 16 (39.02%) #25 Final Fantasy IX (Smackdown Hotel Conference) (6-1) 25 (60.98%) --FFIX rebounds from its first loss with a solid win over MMX.

Majora's Mask is down to 36 following the loss.
Seriously, how the heck does Majora's Mask fall so far despite only suffering a narrow loss to a game that it was already considerably ranked lower than? And while we're at it, how the heck does this RPI work?
Somehow I'm finding this contest extremely addicting to follow.
I suppose I should also mention that this contest's results are to play a huge part in deciding my future playthroughs. Ironically enough, by my count I've played 15 of the games in the official top 25 (and this doesn't include Super Mario RPG, which I have played but never finished and it's been a long time since I touched the game), and 14 of what's in the RPI top 30 (again not counting Mario RPG). Going by both lists, along with critical acclaim from other sites, the next title I should head for is...
...Metal Gear Solid 3. Since I don't want a PS2 or 3DS, this means waiting for that MGS HD collection. Nuts.
EDIT: As far as featured matches go, Star Fox 64 currently has a two-vote lead on GSC and Final Fantasy X has a three-vote lead on Uncharted 2. Some part of me imagines that FFX will start pulling away later on, because if it doesn't it's going to be looking mighty bad struggling to break 60% on something that needed overtime just to overtake Mario Sunshine.
Yeah, Majora's Mask is barely deserving of a top 25 spot at all anymore, if even.
Not sure where you're getting Mario 8 from, though. I count it as the tenth, and it would be far easier to strike a single one of the earlier games from being considered canon than it would to strike two.
1: Donkey Kong 2: Mario Bros. 3: Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) 5: Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) 6: Super Mario Bros. 3 7: Super Mario Land 8: Super Mario World 9: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins 10: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 11: Super Mario 64 12: Super Mario Sunshine 13: New Super Mario Bros. 14: Super Mario Galaxy 15: New Super Mario Bros. Wii 16: Super Mario Galaxy 2
This is, of course, by absolute release order; absolutely no individual region follows this order. In Japan, the US Super Mario Bros. 2 didn't receive a release until after Bros. 3 and Land, whereas in the US, the Japan SMB2 wasn't released until the All-Stars compilation and Land was actually out before Bros. 3. I'm guessing the two that weren't included were either the two Land games (nobody ever respects the handhelds) or the two arcade games. Well, whatever.
(And yeah, that 16-piece ranking topic I made a couple of weeks ago, which I don't think anyone guessed before it purged, was about Mario.)
