217. Halo: Reach - 360
I never have been a big fan of Halo, but this one had me impressed in a few areas. First, the Forge mode looked incredible. Many of its aspects were upgraded to be actually functional! Second, the campaign is really fun on co-op, though that's not very new to the Halo series. However, it went the way of other Halo's, as I just don't like the shield system it applies. I actually just took this to Gamestop a few months ago to see what I'd get for it. They told me they could give me $32, plus 25% for my Power-up card, then with LBP2 and God of War 3, another 20% bonus, for a total of $46.40. Thank you much, Gamestop. 216. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin - PS2 215. Hitman: Contracts - PS2 The first two Hitman games I played, and they were great. I can't really remember the different missions in either of them, so I just lumped them together. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... 214. Radiata Stories - PS2
Despite how low it might seem, I actually think Radiata Stories is a tad underrated. The humor is great, the main character is very relatable, the party system is entirely dynamic, and I don't recall offhand any other game that has a mid-game choice as having as big of an impact as this game's. Choosing differently literally changes the entire game. The gameplay wasn't anything too special, but it was simple and easy to take to. For RPG's, that's just fine with me. I would like to eventually play this again, since I haven't in 5 years or so, but I'm pretty sure I sold it after getting both endings. Stupid, stupid, stupid. 213. Super Off Road - SNES (or more accurately, an arcade game) At my local putt-putt golf course, there is also an arcade inside that has some arcade games, an air-hockey table, a basketball shooting game, etc. Whenever I got to go when I was younger, I always insisted on going inside while we were there, so I could play the games. I played a little Contra, a little Simpsons, a little basketball. But the one I played the most, by far, was the Super Off Road they had set up with steering wheels for four players. 212. Assassin's Creed - 360
I had only played this after AC2 had already come out, simply because it was being sold for $15 on Black Friday. I had already read that there were some issues with the game, but its reception was still mostly positive. When I first started playing, I had a total blast. I loved everything about the game: the venue, the controls, the killing, the random **** you can do when you're bored, everything. Then I got halfway through the game, and realized the formula never changed. It was the exact same thing for the whole game. Then it was considerably less fun. I still enjoyed it, until I got to the end. I got some cryptic messages, and...... that was it. Eh, OK, whatever. 211. The Simpsons Road Rage - PS2 Basically Crazy Taxi with some Simpsons humor thrown in. Also, it was everyone's first chance to explore Springfield in its entirety. I really enjoyed it, though there isn't a whole lot I can say. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

210. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening GB
When I first got this game as a kid, I think I made it as far as the third dungeon. Instead of progressing through the story, I would do dumb things like play the crane game over and over, and spell out things in the ground with the shovel. Early in my gaming years, I was terrified of dying in them. I just couldn't take it in certain games. This was one of them. If I ever left my comfort zone, I wouldn't have any fun, because too much of my concentration was taken up by worrying. Thus, I never got very far. A few years ago, I decided to actually play through it. I wouldn't call it an eye-opening experience or anything, but it was a really good game. As most older Zeldas did, this game had a few obscure ways to progress the story, which I never condone. As shown by the rest of my list, I'm a pretty big fan of being told where to go. Hence, why most of the Zelda games are so low. However, with GameFAQs at my side, I was able to finally complete it. I can at least say that much now. 209. Champions of Norrath - PS2 Around this time, I was getting really into top-down RPG's like this. Hunter, Baldur's Gate, and finally Champions. While BG was much deeper than the other two, it was also a lot less friendly to newbies of the genre. My friends and I were able to get into them much easier than BG. However, Hunter was also extremely basic. Champions games got a bit more depth later into the games. So later, it would satiate my desire for depth and my friends' desire for something flat-out fun. I can't recall much about this game in detail, but I know we all liked playing through this a few times. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... 208. Pokemon Snap - N64
Not the best game ever made, but god damn did I eat it up as a kid. A game involving my favorite creatures, and it was impossible to lose? Sign me up! Not that I ever lost much at Pokemon anyway, but I didn't have any of the stress of coming up with the best team and such. I was pretty ****ing excited. Until I got to the final area. God damn Mew took me so many tries when I was little, I couldn't even give you any kind of number. It was a lot, let's just put it at that. When it came out on VC, my immediate thought was "I have to show my nieces this." Even though they're into Pokemon, I guess they weren't into this game for whatever reason. So **** them, I had fun with this game, and that's all that matters! 207. Red Faction: Guerrilla - 360 Most sorta old franchises revived on this-gen consoles fall flat on its face. That's what I expected out of Guerrilla, especially since all my childhood friends have since split up, and we wouldn't be able to play it together in the same room. However, what I got out of it was...... a better game than its predecessors. I was very pleasantly surprised. The deconstruction of everything in this game just feels so satisfying. It's basically GTA on Mars with some crazy building physics. On top of that, the multiplayer was a lot of fun, too. With different types of backpacks, like rhino packs that would let you ram yourself through walls, to stealth backpacks that would make you mostly invisible for brief periods of time, to plain ol' jetpacks, it left room for plenty of variety of play. If you ever see this game in a bargain bin, I definitely recommend picking it up. As for the new Red Faction, I couldn't tell you anything about it, as reviews have steered me clear of it. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform - SSBB FC: 1891-0831-5747 (TEETS) http://card.mygamercard.net/nxe/TatteredUniform.png ... 206. Mario Party 3 - N64
By this point, the main Mario Party formula was already set in place, and it was all about fine-tuning it and throwing in some new minigames. There were a few neat games added here, like Chip-in Challenge, Picking Panic, and Fowl Play, but overall, I feel like the quality of games went down from Mario Party 2. Also, Game Guy minigames are ****ing stupid. Still, can't go wrong with Mario Party 3. 205. Crackdown 2 - 360 Crackdown is a game that was mostly known for coming packaged with a beta for Halo 3. What many people didn't even bother to find out was that Crackdown itself is a hell of a lot of fun. When Crackdown 2 released, Amazon had a deal to get a free $20 gift card with a preorder for it. This worked out extremely well, considering I used that card to get a game later on this list for free. Anyhoo, I got my copy on release day, skipped some classes, and co-op'd it up with Dante for a while. Set in the same venue as the last game, with tons more enemies to deal with than the first, it topped the first game in almost any conceivable way. The enemies were more varied, the leveling up was more pronounced, there were more guns and cars to use, more things to collect, and a multiplayer mode to wrap it all up. You would think this would make it a better game, but it didn't. At all. I don't know if it lacked the charm, or the open-ended world exploration was already used up in the first game, or what, but it just didn't feel...... right. This is one of very few instances where I like a better game in a series less than some other. And it's by quite a bit. 204. Super Mario Kart - SNES
I can't believe it today, but I actually never owned this game. The only time I played it was at my friend, Kevin's place. We didn't go over there too often, but his parents were our scout leaders, so we'd go over there for a lot of our meetings. After they were done, it was sometimes a while before our parents came to pick us up, so we'd do one of two things. Hold our Pokemon Trading Card Fanclub meetings, or if no one in there had anything to report on that front, we'd go in his basement and play SNES. I think we played Super Mario Allstars once, and every other time, we played this game. Lots of fun times were had at Kevin's. 203. inFamous - PS3 Probably the best Superhero game I've ever played. 202. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 - PS2
The second-to-last Tiger Woods game to appear on my list. Honestly, I just kinda stuck them all in the middle because they're all pretty good, though nothing special. Many other golf games have won my heart over the years, and Tiger Woods is just kinda there. It's still golf, though! In weird news, I always remembered a song off this game's soundtrack so I could look it up one day. It appears someone finally put it on Youtube: Go figure. 201. Dynasty Warriors 7 - 360 I'm actually really impressed with what they did to the series with this installment. The story modes are simply superb. In the rest of the DW games, it just seemed like you were going through indiscernible stages killing indiscernible soldiers as you worked your way through an arbitrary time period. In DW7, you're given a much better look at how things unfolded throughout China's history. Stages all feel unique, and that's not just because you're playing as different characters each time. In fact, that's not the case at all, since you can choose to use any weapon with any character, though each will be more potent with their favorites. The voice acting is just as god-awful as ever, but that's just keeping true to DW's image, imo. As soon as Snowpork and I actually go through some Conquest Mode, I bet this ranking would be even higher. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... I'm glad we had those last two guesses, or else you guys would've completely whiffed on this one!
200. Super Smash Bros. - N64 As said many times before, I was a Nintendo kid through and through growing up. I hadn't played a lot of the third-party gems that appeared on their early consoles, but I played pretty much every big-name first-party title out there. However, I wasn't real big on keeping up with future releases. I would either see games I wanted in the store, hear about them from my friends, or see a commercial for them on TV. This was one of the few cases option #3 came up. The minute I first saw the commercial, I knew I had to own this game. Mario? Pikachu? Kirby? Yoshi? Fox? All in the same game? Hell yes, sign me up! I got home and played for hours straight. I started with Pikachu, but I relied way too much on Thunder to be very effective. Then I tried Fox, but he was a little too floaty for my tastes. Then I thought maybe Link would be more my style, since he'd have a bit better reach with a sword. I really sucked with his throwing, though, so that wasn't that good either. Finally, I tried Kirby. He had a spammable move in his down+b, some really good throws, AND the ability to recover from almost anything! I had finally found my SSB main. Lot of good that did, however, considering that all I had left to do was try 1P mode on harder difficulties, and to mess around on the stages with different items. My friends had moved on before I was ready to give it up. Unfortunately, SSB wasn't as 1P friendly as the future installments were, and I was pretty much forced to move on as well. After SSBM, I would try to go back to SSB1 occasionally, but it's nigh unplayable once you've had a taste of Melee. It's so much better in every regard. I had fun playing 1 for a while, but I can't justify placing it above so many of these later games on the list. Leaderboard: 1. Dante (7)* 2. Zazi (7) 3. LinkMarioSamus (6) 4. TheArkofTurus (5)* 4. Boko (5)* 6. Fungi (5) 7. Bartz (4)* 7. Raka_Putra (4)* 9. Wigs (4) 9. Justin (4) 9. WC (4) 12. edward (3) 12. Somnambulance (3) 12. Rammtay (3) 12. Azp (3) 12. Kotetsu (3) 12. XIII Rocks (3) 12. WalrusJump (3) 12. dowolf (3) 12. MWC (3) 12. Timjab (3) 12. Evil lord (3) 12. Blairville (3) Dante continues to hold the lead, but it's starting to look as vulnerable as ever! And there's still at least(hint hint) 9 possible points to be had, so don't give up yet! Which game will be 180th? A. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - 360 B. SSX Tricky - GCN C. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time - DS Fairly uninteresting poll this time around, especially given the last one. 199. Hatris - NES
This is the one game that differs on my list most if I simply limit it in terms of just quality. I don't even like this game, really. However, the game has a very special place in my heart, otherwise. My mother's mother never really understood my love for video games, but occasionally, she would try something that I was into. Only one game stuck for her, and it was this one. I didn't like its gameplay, but I did really like the music. My grandmother did like the gameplay, so she would play, and I would watch. This is one of the very few memories I have of her, as we never visited much, and she died 15 years ago. 198. PGA Tour 96 - GB My first portable golf game. 197. GoldenEye 007 - N64
If any of you guys were here for the first topic, you'll remember the babysitter a bunch of my friends had, whose kids would all play her N64. Most of her games sucked. This one did not. Since we only had three controllers, and a bunch of kids, we established a "Last place gives up the controller" rule. This was of course a scam. My buddy Chris or Jeremy and I would find some mines, camp in a small system of corridors (though always make it look like we're running around) and wait. The unsuspecting third player hits our mine, we laugh, and continue playing, while they get mad at us. Classic. 196. Assassin's Creed II - 360 I think I was just really tired of the AC formula by the time I picked up AC2, because I really don't understand how it's THAT much better than AC1. It introduced some new weapons, and I like Ezio a hell of a lot better than Altair, since he actually keeps the story fresh for longer, but the overall presentation is pretty much the same. It's been a year or two since I've last played it, but I know every main assassination followed a very static pattern of missions. Finally, the big kill would change things up a bit. But I did the same thing in AC1, so I don't see why everyone else thinks it's so much better. Honestly, the only reason I have this game higher is because of the tombs. Those were easily the best parts of the game, and some of the best platforming in gaming, imo. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... 195. F-Zero X - N64
This was my first delve into Captain Falcon's universe, prompted pretty much solely by SSB. I'm glad I did, or I would've missed out on some fantastic games. While I spent a lot of time completing races, I probably spent even more time on the Death Race. I got pretty damn good at killing people, and it was also more fun to me. Upon purchasing GX, I was pretty upset that they took the mode out, but considering its non-appearance so far, you can probably tell how much I missed it. In fact, after playing GX so much, I tried going back to X. It's seriously nearly impossible. Besides, there were better racing games that generation, hence its somewhat low ranking. 194. The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition - 360 I had never played any of Guybrush Threepwood's games until they re-released it for 360. I decided that this point was as good a time as any to start. Now I wish I would've been aware of the games a long time ago. I wasn't too into it until I started swordfighting. That was when I realized I was playing something special, and it didn't let up until it was over. Definitely an overlooked adventure game. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform http://img.imgcake.com/craterbuttonsgifus.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

193. Mickey's Ultimate Challenge GB
Told you this game was coming. This was actually one of my favorite handheld games as a kid. The basic premise is that you have to complete five activities to be able to climb the beanstalk and wake up a giant to get treasure or something. I don't remember exactly, it's a tad hazy. I do remember, though, that all of the activities were puzzles, and all were pretty damn fun. One was a block pushing puzzle, one was a Simon Says type puzzle, one was basically just Codebreaker, one was a letter puzzle, and the last one was a memory puzzle. Finally, to wake the giant, you have to finish a slide puzzle of an alarm clock. Very simple game, but I just loved it when I was little. 192. Double Dash ahead of Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Civ4, and Ocarina of Time is a big fat NO.

191. Pikmin 2 - GCN
Truth be told, the first Pikmin didn't have a whole lot to improve on. Maybe a bit more variety in its enemies and Pikmin both, some better advantages for each type, and some more length. Pikmin 2 delivered in each of these areas, though not as much as I'd have liked. Giving Yellow Pikmin electric immunity was great, and the poisonous White Pikmin was an addition I didn't really see coming, but much appreciated. More could've been done with Purples, though, and the enemies were still just a matter of "wait for them to attack then kick their ass". Also, it was severely lengthened by its dungeons, but I just don't feel as accomplished when clearing them out as I do out in the world. Most of these problems, I think, are just a product of being a pseudo-RTS. You simply can't do much better than this in the genre. The company's boss was dumb, Louie was dumb, and they gave Olimar zero character development whatsoever. I was really invested in Olimar's diary entries from the first game, and 2's equivalent notes were pretty subpar. It was one of those games that was much less than the sum of its parts. Getting a headache, so I'll save #190 for later. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform - SSBB FC: 1891-0831-5747 (TEETS) http://card.mygamercard.net/nxe/TatteredUniform.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

189. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater - N64
This game influenced my life in a lot of ways. One, it got me into skateboarding. Two, it got me into Goldfinger. Three, it led to a pretty great friendship with a guy at my school, who also got into skateboarding, eventually as much to build a full-size quarter-pipe in his garage. It really was that good of a game, one that I didn't think could be beaten back then. Then the rest of the series came out, and proved me horribly, horribly wrong. 188. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - 360 Pretty much your run-of-the-mill FPS. You had the bonus ability to blow up whatever the **** you wanted to, and to be able to directly spawn on your squad-mates in objective based game modes, but other than that, there wasn't a whole lot to set it apart from the others. -- Xbox GT/PSN name: TatteredUniform - SSBB FC: 1891-0831-5747 (TEETS) http://card.mygamercard.net/nxe/TatteredUniform.png ...
