The game hasn't updated on newgrounds or gamerfish yet <_< This isn't hard to understand.

You can get an exe version of the game from the dev's site if you want.

The developed released an update, but it hasn't gotten through on newgrounds yet (moderators have to confirm it). You can download it the .exe and manually move the save (as outlined earlier) to play with the new one.

The new one also includes a "save transporter" that will let you export easily.

I wish we could edit intro posts to switch to newgrounds and the developer's blog.

Man, even my level 20 Pokémon can't take out all the Butterfree in a line; they barely get half of em (even when I have one tail whipping). I actually got stuck at the end of the level and found a Butterfree with a sliver of health stuck at the bottom of the screen, which I had to catch to finish.

man, The pokemon in Viridian forest 2 are horrifically overtunned.

Why would you use tail whip?

Use string shot to slow them down, or growl to turn some them around.

All of the Butterfree were spamming Harden and I mostly had physical attackers with me; didn't bother trying those.

Got me a paras after six tries. Thankfully they send them in waves, instead of just one like Pikachu in VF1, so it wasn't hard.

Really? That shocks me. I had a team of three 20's on that side and was able to catch one with ease. Then they sent a second wave on the same try. Keep going for it, though I warn you Paras is not done justice in this game.

And on that note, what are all the catchable pokemon so far? I got the starter, Rattata, Pidgey, Pikachu, Caterpie line, Weedle line, Spearow, Nidoran Male and Female, Mankey, and Jigglypuff.

They use Harden, but Confusion and Ember seemed to be getting mitigated like crazy as well by Beedrills. Then again it takes like 3-4 dragon rages to kill a beedrill.

Took a bit, but I got me a Paras as well.

Butterfree on the VF2 route are a pain. About the only way I'm getting them is by having my Pikachu use Thunder Wave/Electro Ball while Spearow and Charmeleon hit them with everything they've got.

Yeah. I've got a team of level 20s and I can't take down more than 2 per set with consistency. I could swap my team around a bit and trade a bit of power for Super Effective moves (IE: Jigglypuff -> Pidgeotto for Gust), but they have too much HP and move too quickly to let you score too many kills on them

There's a new level (Mt Moon), plus catchable geodude, zubat, clefairy (rare), and supposedly Ekans (Red only) and Sandshrew (Blue only).

Magnitude appears to be broken, which is too bad, considering how useful it looks <_<

Over a dozen runs and not 1 Paras wave. I give up for now. I take it they didn't raise the cap? If not great because then I could make a semi-perfect (PARAS!) Blue run easy too. Mmm Sandshrew...

Here's how I beat Mt Moon...

Left side middle: Mankey - Fury swipes
Left side bottom: Raichu - Thunderwave (to paralyze) or Butterfree - Stringshot

Middle: Charmander - Growl

Right side middle: Mankey - Fury Swipes
Right side bottom: Raichu - Thunderwave (to paralyze) or Butterfree - Stringshot

Moving back and forth between the two remaining top spots: Mankey - Fury Swipes

Fury swipes is ridiculously powerful and works against all types. The string shot or thunderwave slows down enemies, and growl turns them around. Thanks to growl, all the slowed down geodudes got turned around over and over until they could be slowly beat down. Also, I'm pretty sure the zubats can't do anything and are just there to distract your fire, so if one side is all zubats and the other has a lone geodude, put your extra mankey on the geodude side. Finally, as far as I can tell the only thing that goes in that "locked" ground spot is geodude, but even with rollout he's not as powerful as a fury swipes mankey.

I dunno what you're talking about, the Zubats most certainly can and will cause damage to your geodude stock.

I'd like to tackle Mt.Moon but I still haven't got my damn Paras..

Gained 5000 pokédollars on Viridian Forest 2 but I've only seen one Paras wave, and they were all killed

Can't beat Mt.Moon at all, and I'm totally against having duplicates.

I use : Butterfree (For the Sp.Atk), Jigglypuff (Sp.Atk again, and no immunity), Nidoqueen (Fury Swipe), Mankey (Fury Swipe), Ivysaur (Razor Leaf) and Pidgeotto (Whirlwind).

Jesus, that was rough.

I beat it with:

Ivysaur - Razor Leaf
Beedrill - String Shot
Ekans - Leer
Mankey - Fury Swipes
Ratticate - Sucker Punch
Butterfree - Confusion

I kept Ekans in the center to lower the Defense of everything. Then I moved Ivysaur and Butterfree to the same side as the Geodude each time and moved Mankey and Ratticate to the side with the big wave.

I tried Pikachu with Thunder Wave for a long while, but it just didn't work. I also tried Pikachu's Growl too, but that just made everything avalanche worse. But when I caught Ekans I figured that he could lower Geodude's Defense to manageable levels.

btw, do you know if the stone evos stop learning moves like in the regular game? I'm afraid to use any of the new stones because of this.

The last level is really hard. Way harder than anything has been before.

I'm sure it'll be easier once the level cap goes up but for now... god damn.

I basically did this with a Nidoqueen instead of a third Mankey and Scary Face Raticate over Stringshot. seems to be the best strategy, you just need to be proactive with your mover, always have it lined up with the horde and not the Geodudes (until only Geodudes are left.)

now i just need a Clefairy, none of them showed up on my run.
