Heh, trading for future season picks. Interesting.

And a terrible idea since you can't be sure who will manage next season.

Probably the lack of posted stats.

Even then.. Ervin winning makes no sense when Gallardo threw 7 innings of 3 hit, 0 ER ball vs Santana's 2 ER in 7 innings...

ALL STAR TIME!
Between Week 9 and Week 10 is the All Star Break. Our managers this year are War and Sir Chris. The fans vote in the starting lineup and the starting pitcher, the managers pick the rest of the team. Injuries don't count. Pitching rest is reset before and after the All Star Game (a pitcher could hypothetically pitch Week 9, the All Star Game, and then Week 10).

Stat sheets contain SPOILERS for Week 9. Read at your own risk. You can wait until after this week's games to vote if you want, I just wanted to get this work done now because I'll be out of town a lot in the next week.

ALL STAR HITTERS (minimum 10 AB, going by most played position)

*SPOILERS FOR GORONS/HEDGEHOGS*

Clayton Kershaw: I had a 2 hit, 81 pitch shutout this season!
Tommy Hanson: Oh yeah? I just 2 hit shutout the Hedgehogs in 74 pitches.

Absolutely insane how quick he worked over that lineup. The record is 58, and the next closest is 67.. and those were set 70 years ago. Btw, the record is a 2 hitter too, XD.

Also Happ has far superior stats and barely less innings than Saito anyway..)

I learned through Alec and on the spreadsheet that Happ played in exactly one game. I am not voting for an all-star who has such a small body of work

Saito has 3 more innings, that's it. What does it matter if Saito played in separate games?

It's moot anyway because a starter should start. As I said, a sub-2 ERA is still amazing. There were a plethora of relief pitchers last year in the MLB with incredibly low ERAs and you didn't see anyone voting them to start the all star game. RPs' samples are smaller and they pitch at full strength each game. Only the most amazing outlier seasons get voted for the Cy Young if you're an RP (like Gagne's perfect 55 save season with almost 2 Ks per inning). Saito isn't "better" than Lincecum by a long shot.

I didn't say Happ played only one game.

I said he had started for one game (actually, it was two).

Starting and relief stats for the SAME pitcher are calculated separately because I tally for rotation and bullpen ERAs.

Happ as a starter: 5 ER, 14 IP
Happ as a reliever: 0 ER in 7 1/3 IP (due to Price only last 1 2/3 innings)

That's fair criticism but you are also trying to use real-life information, some of which doesn't apply to this at all, especially the point about full strength since all of our players and pitchers are at full strength for each game, except those who are injured. I do respect your opinion though and know where you are coming from, but I just have a different way of looking at things

I meant full strength as in they haven't been in the game for 8 or 9 innings. They throw around 10-20 pitches and they're done. They don't get tired and make as many mistakes.

LOL NOT AN ERROR:
3-4:58: Suzuki off Hamilton

What started as a low-scoring game turned into
But it was definitely exciting. For the first five innings, Billingsley gave up no hits or walks and struck out six batters, even taking out the first three in the first inning. In the sixth, he started giving things up, fully loading the bases before his first out and then giving up 4 runs in 7 at-bats. On the other side, New York's batters got on base once in the first four innings, and that person would immediately steal second, aside from Wright. They never capitalized on these though.

Chris and War may now select the rest of their teams.

Organize your starting lineup. If you tell me innings to switch hitters or pitchers in/out, I will do that to the best of my ability.

Every team must have at least two representatives (can be bench or bullpen)

Pujols.. WASN'T selected? The f***? Sure.. Howard has a better average.. but Pujols has 2 more HR in 7 less AB. His slugging is off the charts. OPS almost a full point higher. Did Kickass voters intentionally keep the best player in the league off of our starting lineup or something? And XD at RZ having two starters while Olympian has none.

Oh well, at least Lincecum was voted in.

Really? You're going to do that to either the best or second best defensive player this year so far? And at 7th too? It's obviously your call, but I disagree with some of your decisions. I am also surprised that you are going with 1 pitcher

The Scrubs believe in randomizing, and so shall my league. Put Longoria in the 3 hole but random everything else. As well...

Bench:

Pujols
Soto
Prado
Braun

And while it is only within my power for a starter, Roy Halladay is getting his ass in the game and throwing the first 8 inning perfect game in history.
